We are a major contractor in the global offshore energy industry, leading the way in subsea pipeline construction and transport, installation and removal of offshore facilities.

At Allseas, Pipeline Engineering is at the heart of some of the world's most challenging offshore construction projects. The department develops the installation methods and engineering solutions that enable safe and efficient transport and installation of offshore pipelines and subsea infrastructure.

Our work extends far beyond pipeline installation alone. We engineer complex offshore operations involving pipelines, manifolds, tees, and other subsea structures that often require years of preparation before reaching the offshore execution phase.

Working closely with project teams, vessel crews and clients worldwide, we combine advanced engineering analysis with practical execution knowledge to develop installation methods that can be safely and successfully carried out offshore. By leveraging our unique fleet of construction vessels and decades of offshore expertise, we continuously push the boundaries of what is technically possible in offshore pipeline installation.

Senior Pipeline Installation Engineer

Your role

As a Senior Pipeline Installation Engineer, you take ownership of installation scopes from concept development through offshore execution. You translate engineering analyses into practical installation procedures and act as the technical focal point towards clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing concept, basic and detailed installation engineering for offshore construction projects;
  • Performing and reviewing installation analyses using OrcaFlex and other engineering tools;
  • Translating engineering calculations into practical and executable installation procedures;
  • Designing installation methods for pipelines, subsea structures and associated offshore equipment;
  • Defining lifting arrangements and installation equipment requirements;
  • Coordinating procurement and fabrication of installation aids and lifting equipment;
  • Assessing transport and logistics constraints to ensure materials and equipment arrive safely at the worksite;
  • Managing engineering packages performed by external specialist subcontractors;
  • Presenting and defending installation methodologies during client reviews and safety assessments;
  • Supporting offshore operations when required and providing technical guidance during project execution.

What makes this role unique?

At Allseas, we believe the best installation engineers combine an analytical mindset with strong practical insight. You will not only perform advanced analyses but also determine how projects will be executed offshore, what equipment is required, how components will be transported and installed, and how risks can be mitigated before operations begin.

What we expect from you

In order to qualify for the positoin of Pipeline Installation Engieneer, you should recognize yourself in most of the following requirements:

  • MSc or BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or a related discipline;
  • Strong experience with OrcaFlex
  • Minimum 5 years of experience modelling pipelines and subsea structures
  • Strong analytical skills combined with practical engineering judgement;
  • Ability to translate complex analyses into clear installation procedures;
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams;
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills;
  • Comfortable interacting with clients and presenting technical solutions;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
  • Willingness to travel offshore approximately 2 to 3 weeks per year, and willingness to travel twice a year to the head office in the Netherlands for training and interfacing with the colleagues in the Netherlands.

What we offer

Working at Allseas means being involved in some of the most complex offshore installation projects in the industry. From deepwater pipelines to highly engineered subsea structures, you'll tackle challenges that combine advanced engineering with practical execution.

What sets this role apart is the opportunity to combine detailed engineering and analysis with real-world offshore operations. Rather than focusing solely on calculations or procedures, you'll help develop complete installation solutions and see your work come to life offshore.

Apart from that, you can count on:

  • A competitive industry benchmarked salary, in line with your expertise and experience, and excellent an 401k Program
  • The opportunity to work with some of the world's most advanced offshore construction vessels and equipment;
  • Offshore exposure that allows you to see the direct impact of your engineering decisions;
  • We make sure to offer possibilities for personal and professional growth, including, trainings and coaching
  • Allseas has earned the "World-Class Workplace" label, which is based entirely on feedback from our employees
