Principal Scrum Master - Lufthansa Digital LabThe LHG Digital Lab supports Lufthansa Group in the design, development, and continuous evolution of its digital platforms, including the OneBooking web ecosystem and related digital services. The Lab operates within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment as part of Lufthansa Group's Digital Hangar and Agile Release Trains, working in close collaboration with Lufthansa product, design, and engineering teams.
The Lab includes teams based in Nice (France), Bad Homburg (Germany), and Istanbul (Turkey).
The Nice Digital Lab hosts cross-functional Scrum teams made up of Software Engineers, Quality Assurance (QA) Engineers, and Customer Success Engineers who deliver customer-facing, highly available digital solutions used by airline customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master (or Principal Scrum Master) to support Agile delivery and continuous improvement for a User Interface (UI)-focused development team operating within a complex international environment.
In this role, you will serve as the Scrum Master for one team, helping ensure the effective application of Agile principles, supporting delivery excellence, encouraging team autonomy, and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with Lufthansa Group stakeholders and Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to manage dependencies, align priorities, and support Program Increment (PI) execution.
You will also contribute to broader Agile transformation initiatives by coaching teams and stakeholders on Agile practices and supporting the continued development of Agile maturity across the organisation.
Scrum Master Leadership, Coordination and Agile Coaching
Serve as the Scrum Master for a User Interface (UI) development team, facilitating Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
Support high-performing, self-organising teams through coaching and servant leadership, while helping to remove impediments and improve team effectiveness.
Partner with Product Owners on backlog management, prioritisation, transparency, predictability, and sustainable delivery practices.
Collaborate with Lufthansa Group stakeholders and Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to manage dependencies, support Program Increment (PI) planning and execution, and coordinate delivery across teams.
Promote Agile values, principles, and Lean-Agile practices through coaching, mentoring, continuous learning activities, and participation in Agile communities of practice.
Ideal Candidate
Experience as a Scrum Master in Agile software development environments, supporting cross-functional teams and delivering complex initiatives.
Effective facilitation, stakeholder management, communication, and coaching skills.
Experience working within scaled Agile environments such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or equivalent frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to manage dependencies, risks, and coordination activities across multiple teams and organisations.
Collaborative servant leadership approach with a focus on continuous improvement, team development, and Agile maturity.
Fluent in English
