The Regional Higher Ed Lead is the single point of ownership for AWS Academy within an assigned geographic territory. This role is accountable for growing and managing a portfolio of higher education institutions, advising on technical curriculum and cloud/AI strategy, and serving as the trusted advisor connecting institutions to the right combination of AWS education programs. You will own the institutional relationship end-to-end - from pipeline development, through onboarding, through long-term account health - while defining the technical standards and requirements that ensure institutions successfully implement and deliver Academy courses. You will work across AWS teams (sales, public sector, partner organizations, curriculum, and platform engineering) to bring coordinated value to higher education institutions in your region.

A typical day includes backend and frontend development designing components testing and monitoring applications and reviewing and evaluating GenAI-generated outputs to ensure quality. You'll participate in an on-call rotation and help drive next-generation innovations that blend traditional software engineering with AI models-accelerating learning and improving skills acquisition for AWS learners worldwide. Basic qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
