AVP - Senior Lead Platform Engineering

Responsibilities:

• Production Reliability: Ensure seamless uptime and rapid incident response for index services in a cloud-first environment.
• Cloud-Native Operations: Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines on GCP, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions).
• Automation and Innovation: Drive process automation and continuous improvement, reducing manual effort and increasing service quality.
• Security and Compliance: Proactively manage vulnerability patching and ensure compliance with DBG's security standards.
• Monitoring and Observability: Utilise modern monitoring tools (e. g., Dynatrace, Graylog, and BMC Patrol) to detect anomalies and optimise system performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams across locations to deliver robust solutions.
• Documentation: Create clear, user-friendly documentation using Confluence and JIRA, supporting knowledge sharing and audit readiness.
• Continuous Learning: Stay ahead of technology trends, especially in cloud and DevOps, and share insights with the team.

Requirements:

• Service-orientated, proactive, and collaborative mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
• University degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
• Proven experience in DevOps, application operations, or system operations, preferably in a financial or regulated environment.
• Strong hands-on expertise with GCP, including deployment, automation, and monitoring.
• Developing software in C++, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and data platforms (Databricks, BigQuery) are a plus.
• Familiarity with Linux server environments.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages (German, French) are a plus.
