Is a data-driven company that thrives on the availability of clean and robust data, supported by strong data products to drive value for the company. These data products form a cornerstone capability to increase value for the company and its franchisees. The Data Product Manager will be the custodian for driving interactions with various stakeholder teams, including Marketing, Analytics, Data Science, and Operations and uncover problems that can be best resolved by leveraging data across multiple sources. They will strategise the data ingestion across sources, transformation, load, and eventual presentation of data for downstream consumption, including reporting, building data science models, among others.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, data and analytics, and operations, to define and execute against a roadmap that aligns with the product's overall objectives. In this role, you should be comfortable dealing with large volumes of data and be able to make decisions on merging data, filling in gaps, and handling inconsistencies in data. You should also be comfortable using tools such as SQL to perform and analyse the output from engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross- functional teams while driving consensus and execution across all aspects of the product lifecycle. Participate in PI planning to ensure the right items are prioritised for the quarter; develop and provide progress updates to internal and external stakeholders promptly, and manage disagreements and conflicts 30%
- Initiatives and Epics Definition and Prioritisation: Define and document key initiatives and detailed Epics, with a clear prioritisation approach for driving cross-functional alignment and ensuring a clear path for execution by engineering and other teams. Be great at bringing clarity to the engineering team on the purpose behind each delivery item. 25%
- Roadmap Planning: Translate data strategy into a roadmap containing well-defined and prioritised capabilities, features and enablers that will realise the product's vision through incremental value creation for both the company and its franchisees. 15%
- Data Product Strategy: Partner with Business teams, Data Platform Engineering, Data Science, other cross-functional teams, and other product teams to develop and provide input into our data strategy that incorporates product vision and goals. Drive value by identifying the right problem and the right way to solve it 10%
- Uses Acceptance Testing and Support: Conduct self-testing post-development, and execute/support User acceptance testing before feature deployment 10%
- OKR Management/Performance Monitoring: Own development of Team OKRs while monitoring and updating progress; Drive accountability across stakeholders through relevant metrics 5%
- Other Responsibilities: Keep tab on industry best practices, data platform capabilities, and industry knowledge; Ensure all documentation and artefacts are up to date and accurate; Partner with Product Analyst to deliver on committed work 5%
Requirements:
- Minimum 4-year degree / Bachelor's / MCA.
- Master's (MBA).
- Overall, 6 to 8 years of experience working in a professional setup.
- 2 to 4 years of experience working as a data analyst or technology engineer with a deep understanding of data platforms, development of data/model pipelines, and integrations.
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a product manager working on data platforms or related technology.
- Strong knowledge of data pipelines, data APIs, and data quality needs, including monitoring and reporting.
- Ability to work hands-on with data using SQL to analyse data, understand data schemas and governance.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions, able to collect and synthesise information, making it relevant and actionable for key stakeholders.
- Strong documentation skills, specifically writing requirements, user acceptance testing, and other strategic documentation to communicate vision and strategy.
- Strong collaborator with the ability to work laterally and drive alignment across the organisation.
- Clear communicator with excellent writing, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Strong understanding of data governance laws and how policies affect data strategies.
- Strong understanding of Personally Identifiable Information and data protection related to it.
- Familiarity with handling customer-related data and marketing data from different sources.
- Knowledge of the QSR, hospitality, or retail industry is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and model deployments.
- Is results-oriented with the ability to operate in ambiguity and deliver tangible business results.
- Experience working with teams across geographies is a plus.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Experience working with analytical tools such as Databricks, Tableau or similar tools is a plus.
- Significant decision-making or influencing authority in terms of defining vision, strategy, roadmap, and prioritisation for a cross-functional team spread across multiple product platforms and teams.
