Job Description:
We are looking for a highly experienced Architect with strong expertise to lead data architecture assessment, target data model design, legacy data analysis, and modernization of the Client Data platform. The role supports migration of applications to a modern cloud-native architecture hosted on AWS. The Data Modeler will work with architects, business analysts, SMEs, developers, QA teams and modernization specialists to define canonical data models, integration structures, data governance standards, and future-state information architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct current-state data architecture assessment across Data Platform modules and data structures.
- Analyse source systems and define data mappings for migration and integration initiatives.
- Create conceptual, logical and physical data models for Disclosure and Work Actions modules.
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications and analytics platforms.
- Develop dimensional data models (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) for reporting and business intelligence.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and data engineers to define data requirements.
- Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation.
- Design data models for AWS-based Data Lake and Data Warehouse environments.
- Work closely with ETL/ELT teams to ensure efficient data integration and transformation.
- Optimize data structures for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement data governance, data quality, and master data management best practices.
- Analyse source systems and define data mappings for migration and integration initiatives.
- Support data modernization and cloud migration projects.
- Assist development teams during sprint execution and defect triage.
- Participate in discovery, design reviews, sprint demos and stakeholder workshops.
Required Skills
- 12+ years in Data Modeling and Data Architecture.
- Strong expertise in relational database design and normalization.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Dynamo DB, SQL Server environments.
- Experience supporting legacy modernization programs.
- Hands-on experience with AWS-based enterprise platforms.
- Experience creating enterprise data dictionaries and governance artifacts.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
Technical Skills
- Data Modeling tools: ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner or equivalent.
- SQL and database performance concepts.
- DB2, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or equivalent RDBMS knowledge.
- API and integration data modeling.
- Data migration and transformation concepts.
- Metadata management and data lineage practices.
- AWS Data Services awareness.
- UML, ERD and information architecture documentation.
