Description

We are looking for a Junior System Engineer to work on the maintenance and administration of server and virtualization infrastructure. The position is suitable for someone with basic knowledge and a desire to grow in the field of system administration.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of server and storage technologies
  • Experience working with at least one hypervisor (VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V)
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration
  • Understanding of backup and data recovery principles
  • Willingness to work in shifts / on-call duty (if applicable)
  • Responsibility, a systematic approach, and eagerness to learn
Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and monitoring physical servers and server infrastructure
  • Administering storage and SAN systems (creating and assigning volumes, monitoring capacity and performance)
  • Configuring and monitoring backup systems, verifying backup success, and testing restore procedures
  • Working with virtualization platforms: VMware, KVM, and Hyper-V (creating and maintaining virtual machines, snapshots, migrations)
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Regular system updates (patch management) and tracking security updates
  • Resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues within assigned responsibilities
  • Maintaining technical documentation on the infrastructure and changes made

  • Experience with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLAN, firewall)
  • Scripting knowledge (Bash, PowerShell)
  • Relevant certifications (VMware, Microsoft, Linux)
