Production Engineer

The position was mainly established for the purpose of supporting the Production Team and the construction of the company’s custom-design equipment. In general, the Production Engineer will become a member of the Team that manages the manufacturing and/or maintenance process, from the initial design & development to the repair and planned maintenance of special subsea equipment. The candidate will need to have adequate technical knowledge in order to understand the equipment’s technical specifications, manufacturing, and repair/maintenance processes. The candidate will need to create time-bound manufacturing and maintenance procedures, while working closely with the Design and Construction teams, and also provide technical solutions and suggestions for improvement. Through time, the new Production Engineer will be required and be able to take full responsibility of equipment construction projects, which require deep knowledge of the company’s equipment, understanding of the manufacturing processes, prioritizing, and delegating work.

Major Responsibilities

Production

• Studies equipment and production requirements;
• Creates, organizes, and maintains the technical folder for each spread, including specifications, BoM, technical notes, planning reports, assessments procedures, presentations, checklists, brochures, etc. ;
• Maintains records and supports the equipment PMS;
• Assists in the implementation of production processes that result in high-quality equipment;
• Assists in designing new, or improving current production processes, procedures, and systems;
• Assists in resolving issues and delays in production (construction & maintenance) planning;
• Conducts on-site checks and measurements;
• Ensures that manufacturing procedures follow relevant safety and environmental regulations;
• Assists in the organization and management of manufacturing workflows and resources;
• Planning & Follow up of production process including time schedule and cost analysis of new builds and existing equipment;

General

• Follows departmental processes relating to management of production;
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit;
• Assists with special projects as required;
• Keeps up to date with the latest manufacturing techniques and drawing standards;
• Uses SAP for core departmental processes;
• Liaises with other departments to ensure that the required information is available when needed;
• Ensures that all documentation is properly filled in company’s internal documentation management system;
• Possibility of traveling to employer sites (domestically and globally) as required to implement mobilizations/repairs;

QHSE

• Adheres to all compliance and auditing requirements for the conduct of ethical and transparent operations including the compliance to all ASSO Group policies, guidelines and procedures;
• Complies with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and compliance with all audits and inspections;

Requirements

Education & Training

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field of expertise such as one would receive at a university, technical trade school
• Clear and effective oral and written communication skills in English language;
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Project) and Project Scheduling software required;
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., Autodesk AutoCAD) ;
• Experience of working with SAP is to be considered as extra skill

Experience

• Up to 3 years of related working experience in production/manufacturing;
• Other working experience is under consideration as well;

• Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner;
• Must possess problem solving skills, strong digital and design skills, ability to troubleshoot in a logical manner;
