Systems & Project Accountant

Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for systems, data, and continuous improvement? At Aster Group, we're looking for a Systems Projects Accountant to play a key role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing the finance systems and reporting solutions that support our business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong accounting knowledge with technology, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement.

You'll work across finance and the wider organisation to ensure our systems are efficient, reliable, and capable of providing the insights that drive better business decisions. From supporting system enhancements and delivering projects to developing reports and training users, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on how finance operates across Aster Group. As our Systems Projects Accountant, you'll: Support the delivery of our Finance Systems programme, ensuring key initiatives are implemented successfully and aligned to business priorities.

Maintain and develop finance systems and associated processes, ensuring they remain effective, secure, and fit for purpose. Manage system administration activities including user access, permissions, organisational structures, and accounting hierarchies. Support the implementation of system enhancements and projects, helping to plan, monitor, test, and deliver improvements.

Investigate system issues, support resolution activities, and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement. Design, develop, and maintain reports and management information that provide valuable insights to stakeholders. Create and deliver user training, guidance, and support materials to maximise system capability across the organisation.

What We're Looking For We're keen to hear from candidates who can bring a blend of finance expertise, systems knowledge, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You'll ideally have: Proven experience working with financial and accounting systems, including implementation, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement. Strong accounting knowledge and practical finance experience.

An accounting qualification is desirable. Experience producing financial reports and management information using reporting tools and reporting packages. Ideally you will be experienced in using Dynamic 365 and Power BI.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly expert-level Excel capability. Experience of financial controls, reconciliations, data integrity reviews, and governance processes. Experience supporting system change, enhancement programmes, or project delivery within a finance environment.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial and operational information. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
