Audax is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, availability, and operational health of a defined set of cloud-native platforms supporting mission-critical banking services. Working closely with engineering, security, and product teams, you will lead design and readiness for your area, drive automation and observability practices, and mentor engineers to raise the standard of production operations. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that combines deep operational ownership with cross-team collaboration to keep critical banking services reliable, secure, and observable.

What You'll Do:

• Own the reliability, availability, performance, and operational health of production platforms and services within your area, including OpenShift/Kubernetes environments across on-premises and hybrid infrastructure.
• Lead incident response, problem management, operational readiness reviews, and blameless postmortems for owned services.
• Define and monitor SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, availability, latency, and capacity targets, and use telemetry to identify performance issues and recurring failure patterns.
• Lead design and build readiness for platform and infrastructure changes, including upgrades, scaling, networking, storage, and workload lifecycle management.
• Manage production deployments using Argo CD, Jenkins, Helm, Terraform, and GitOps practices, and establish deployment safety, rollback, and disaster recovery standards for your area.
• Build and maintain observability using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, and OpenTelemetry to establish effective monitoring, alerting, and end-to-end transaction visibility.
• Support production databases (PostgreSQL, Cassandra) and middleware, troubleshooting issues across application, database, messaging, and infrastructure layers.
• Implement secure operational practices - network policies, access controls, secrets, certificates, and IAM - and support PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and MAS TRM audit readiness through operational evidence.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, security, and product teams to resolve cross-system production issues affecting critical retail banking journeys.
• Mentor engineers and establish consistent standards for production operations, observability, incident response, and reliability within your area.

Who You Are:

• 9+ years in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or production infrastructure roles, with demonstrated experience operating at a senior engineering or technical leadership level.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift in multi-cluster, hybrid, or on-premises environments.
• Practical experience with GitOps and CI/CD tooling, including Argo CD, Jenkins, Helm, Terraform, and kubectl.
• Experience building and operating observability stacks - Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, and distributed tracing.
• Hands-on production experience with PostgreSQL and Cassandra or equivalent enterprise databases.
• Working knowledge of service mesh, OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, IAM, secrets management, certificates, and PKI.
• Familiarity with regulatory or compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, or MAS TRM in an operational context.
• Understanding of retail banking technology journeys - payments, cards, authentication, digital banking - and their operational and availability requirements.
• Experience mentoring engineers and establishing team-level standards for reliability and production operations.
