What will you do?

The Electrical Design Engineer in Aurecon’s Global Design Centre supports the ANZ Energy team in delivering safe, innovative, and sustainable electrical engineering solutions across the project lifecycle, from concept through to detailed design and delivery. Aligned with Aurecon ’s purpose of bringing ideas to life, the role contributes to the transition toward low-carbon, resilient, and future-ready energy infrastructure that benefits communities and the environment. Open to Intermediate, Senior, and Lead levels, this role offers flexibility in technical responsibility and leadership, enabling engineers to apply their expertise, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor others, and grow their careers within a supportive, inclusive, and development-focused global organisation.

  • Engage in all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial concept through to detailed design and execution.

  • Collaborate effectively with offshore engineering teams, ensuring seamless project progression and adherence to quality standards.

  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including design calculations, specifications, and reports.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and codes, particularly within the context of the Australian and New Zealand markets.

  • For the Senior Engineer conducts design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and other project team members.

  • Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members while cultivating strong working relationships.

  • Stay updated with advancements in electrical engineering technologies and methodologies

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:

  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus successful execution of the electrical engineering discipline within transmission lines

  • Proven experience in designing transmission lines rated higher than 132kV

  • Demonstrable experience working with offshore designers, alongside an ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across different time zones and cultures

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Familiarity with Australian and New Zealand electrical codes and practices is highly advantageous
