This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, engineering effectiveness, developer tooling or technology product management who is passionate about improving how engineers build, test, deploy and operate software.

We're looking for a data-driven leader who can combine technology, analytics and developer insight to create a better experience for engineers across Aviva.

If you enjoy solving complex problems, influencing senior stakeholders and using evidence to drive meaningful change, we'd love to hear from you.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Experience working with GitHub and modern software engineering practices, with a background in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, engineering effectiveness, developer tooling, or technology product management.
  • Experience using GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira and Datadog to measure, analyse and improve engineering workflows, developer productivity, operational performance and software delivery outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data, metrics and insights to influence technology strategy, investment decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of engineering performance and productivity frameworks such as DORA, SPACE and Flow Framework, alongside experience creating dashboards and visualisations using tools such as Power BI, Grafana or Tableau.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence engineering, architecture, platform and senior leadership teams. Experience with developer productivity platforms (e.g. DX, LinearB, Jellyfish), internal developer platforms, AI-enabled software delivery and regulated environments would be advantageous.
