Junior Full Stack Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer to support the development and maintenance of scalable and reliable web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies.

The role will work closely with Senior Developers, QA, DevOps, and other team members to develop application features, integrate APIs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth communication between frontend and backend systems.

The Junior Full Stack Developer will have opportunities to work with Node.js, React.js/Next.js, RESTful APIs, microservices, and AWS, while following established development standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain application features using Node.js, React.js, and/or Next.js under the guidance of senior developers.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs using Node.js and frameworks such as Express.js or Next.js.
• Assist in developing and maintaining microservices and middleware components.
• Build and enhance frontend components using React.js and/or Next.js.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and ensure proper data flow and functionality.
• Assist with integrations between middleware and external systems using AWS services such as Amazon SQS and Lambda.
• Support API Gateway configurations and API integrations.
• Implement basic API authentication and authorization using mechanisms such as JWT and OAuth 2.0.
• Write unit and integration tests and assist in resolving defects identified during testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with guidance from senior team members.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding and development standards.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and other development team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Assist with application deployments and release activities in coordination with the DevOps team.
• Continuously improve technical skills and stay updated with modern full-stack development practices.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in software development, preferably with exposure to both frontend and backend development.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and at least one modern frontend framework such as React.js or Next.js.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Basic understanding of microservices architecture and API-based application development.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of Node.js and Express.js and/or Next.js.
• Working knowledge of React.js and/or Next.js for frontend development.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and API integration.
• Basic knowledge of microservices and middleware concepts.
• Familiarity with AWS services, preferably including:
  • Amazon API Gateway
  • Amazon SQS
  • AWS Lambda
• Basic understanding of API authentication mechanisms such as JWT or OAuth 2.0.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
• Basic understanding of databases and data handling.
• Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to GraphQL.
• Exposure to RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka.
• Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD concepts.
• Exposure to Kubernetes or Terraform is an advantage.
• Experience with cloud-based application development, particularly AWS.
• Exposure to enterprise system integrations such as SAP.
• Understanding of automated testing practices.
• Experience working with Agile development tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
