Always Locked. Instantly Accessible. Own the world’s first firearm that only shoots for you and those you trust.

WHO WE ARE

Biofire Technologies is on a mission to give gun owners better tools for reducing preventable gun injuries and deaths, especially among children. We believe our technology, combined with a best-in-class customer experience, will define the future of firearms safety for the next generation. Our mission-driven approach has earned support from the firearm community, the tech world, and the media.

Biofire employees encompass a diverse range of talents, including world-class engineers who have designed and tested firearms, medical devices, robots, cars, satellites, rockets, and supersonic jets; expert technicians from aerospace, defense tech, special forces, and gunsmithing; and elite operators from high-tech, advanced manufacturing, and regulated industries. Whether building the product or powering the company behind it, every Biofire team member is united by an obsession with safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

OUR CULTURE

Reducing accidental firearm injuries and deaths requires original thinking and authentic collaboration, so we're deeply invested in building a team and culture that can achieve our mission together. Team members enjoy autonomy and flexibility from day one, so expect to be immediately tasked with solving challenging problems and building new systems that work. We'll hold you accountable for executing audacious goals, giving and receiving honest feedback, and helping your teammates succeed. You'll receive respect, kindness, and support from every direction while you figure out how to get it all done.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Material Handler Technician II at Biofire, you will own the physical flow of inventory that keeps our production lines building - receiving incoming shipments, storing materials, picking and kitting components to work orders, keeping lineside inventory stocked, performing cycle counts, and supporting the shipment of finished goods. Every part in our Smart Gun has a story the system must be able to tell, so in this role the scanner is as important as the pallet jack: you'll make sure that what's on the shelf and what's in the system always match, down to the serial, lot, and revision.

We are looking for someone who takes real pride in accuracy - the kind of person who counts twice, flags what doesn't look right, and hands off a warehouse the next shift can trust. You'll work under the direction of our Inventory Manager and alongside production, quality, engineering, and shipping teams in a fast-moving manufacturing environment where your work directly determines whether the line builds on schedule.

To succeed, you will need to move quickly without sacrificing precision, follow procedures built for a regulated product while speaking up the moment reality doesn't match the paperwork, and communicate clearly with everyone who depends on the parts you touch. If you're excited about keeping a mission-driven production floor running with discipline and care, we encourage you to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Unload, verify, and inspect incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders, reporting discrepancies and damage the same day

  • Put away received materials to designated storage locations and record every movement accurately and in real time in our inventory system

  • Pick, kit, and stage components to production work orders according to the bill of materials and specified revisions, delivering materials to points of use across the manufacturing floor

  • Replenish lineside inventory to established min/max and kanban levels through proactive floor walks each shift, and respond promptly to restock requests from production

  • Perform daily and periodic cycle counts, research count variances, and support annual and interim physical inventories

  • Maintain accurate serial-number, lot, and revision records, and handle controlled and regulated components in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and internal chain-of-custody procedures

  • Record and label expiration dates for shelf-life-controlled consumables at receipt, store and rotate materials using FIFO, and flag items approaching expiration for review

  • Prepare finished goods for shipment - pick, pack, label, and stage - and coordinate with the shipping team on outbound readiness

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse and staging area, storing materials appropriately by size, weight, hazard class, and turnover

  • Identify and report damaged, obsolete, or non-conforming inventory to Quality, and contribute ideas to process-improvement initiatives

  • Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and RF scanners safely as part of daily work, providing backup and cross-coverage for other warehouse and inventory roles as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

We understand that not all applicants will possess skills that perfectly align with our job qualifications. At Biofire, we appreciate diverse experiences from various industries, and we encourage all individuals who meet the necessary qualifications to submit their applications. While having the "desired" qualifications may strengthen a candidate's profile, we also welcome applicants with alternative experiences to apply.

  • 2+ years of material handling, warehouse, or inventory experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or similar environment; a high school diploma or equivalent is required, and prior work in manufacturing industries is a plus

  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in recording inventory transactions, with comfort using computer-based inventory systems, handheld RF scanners, and basic math (counting, addition, subtraction, unit conversion)

  • Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment (pallet jack, hand truck); forklift certification is a plus

  • Experience with kitting for manufacturing production and with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation is strongly preferred

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as on a team; legally eligible under federal and state law to handle regulated components (background check required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a hands-on warehouse and manufacturing-floor role. You should be able to stand, walk, and move about the floor for the duration of a shift; regularly lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs; bend, stoop, kneel, reach overhead, and climb ladders to access storage locations; and handle small parts and hardware with precision. The work environment includes typical manufacturing noise, machinery, and temperature variation. Required PPE (closed-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, and other PPE as directed) is provided.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

In addition to competitive pay, as a full-time employee at Biofire you are eligible for:

  • Stock Options in Biofire, 401(k), HSA - and other financial benefits

  • Medical Insurance - including plan options with $0 payroll deduction

  • Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Plans - with $0 payroll deduction

  • 3 Weeks Vacation and Sick time (Flex Time for salary positions), and 13 Paid Holidays

  • Parental Leave - and other family-building, adoption and surrogacy benefits

The compensation range for this role is $25.00 - $30.00 /hour + stock options + benefits.

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

We expect you to bring your very best, and in return, we will provide the support necessary for you to excel. You'll collaborate with colleagues you appreciate, respect, and find inspiration from, and have access to all the technical resources needed.
