Less than 4% of Egyptians have access to credit cards and can only afford to purchase products/services with cash that they have saved or are forced to borrow from hard money lenders at high interest rates. We’re changing this by enabling all consumers to instantly receive credit within minutes at their favorite merchants.

Job Scope:

The Senior Testing Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of blnk’s consumer finance products across mobile applications and backend services. The role covers manual and automated testing of mobile apps and APIs, validates data integrity at the database level, and works closely with product and engineering teams to detect defects early and deliver stable, high-quality releases to customers.

Key Accountabilities:

• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into test plans, scenarios, and detailed test cases.
• Perform manual functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing of mobile applications and APIs.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for mobile and API testing, and integrate them into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Validate data integrity and backend operations using database queries.
• Conduct performance and load testing of critical services, preferably using JMeter.
• Report defects clearly with steps to reproduce, track them to resolution, and verify fixes before release.
• Assess release readiness and provide clear test reports and quality status to the team and management.
• Support the investigation of production issues and update test coverage accordingly.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• ISTQB certification is a plus.

Experience:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in software testing.
• Experience with fintech or consumer-facing applications is preferred.
• Proven experience testing mobile applications and APIs in an Agile environment.

Technical Skills:

• Strong manual testing skills, including test case design, execution, and defect reporting.
• Hands-on experience with mobile and API test automation using tools such as Appium and Postman/REST Assured.
• Good knowledge of a programming language for automation, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira.
• Experience testing on both Android and iOS platforms, including real devices and emulators.
• Good knowledge of databases and SQL for data validation.
• Experience with JMeter for performance testing is preferred.
• Experience with Git and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines is preferred.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication in Arabic and English, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
• Ownership of quality and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
