Pulsed Power Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:

As an electrical engineer, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to prototype development for Directed Energy (DE)systems and capabilities. We’re looking for an electrical engineer who can use their skills to research, analyze, down-select, fabricate, test, and integrate complex electronic and RF subsystems and components to advance our non-kinetic weaponportfolio for our DoD warfighters.

At Booz Allen, you’ll use your engineering skills to transform DoD and Navy offerings. Our team develops next-generation weapons and combat systems. That’s why we need an electrical engineer like you who specializes in high-power RF or pulsed power to help us design and develop systems that can operate successfully against advanced threats in complex environments.

On our team, you’ll conduct scientific analysis and testing in a laboratory and field environment. You’ll directly impact the DoD by demonstrating unique or niche capabilities. We’ll look to you to share your electrical engineering expertise through leadership and mentoring junior staff. This is a chance to use your experience-based knowledge in pulsed power electronics while broadening your skillset into areas like mechanical engineering, systems engineering, and operational utility analysis.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experiencein pulsed power research, development, and test and evaluation of a wide variety of pulsed power systems
• 5+ years of experiencewith high voltage, high peak power spark gaps, high voltage power supplies, and fast transient diagnostics
• 2+ years of experiencein laboratory or field-testing environments, including setting test goals, developing test methodologies, organizing and conducting tests, reducing test data, and analyzing results
• Experienceconducting both basic and applied research
• Experiencewith modeling and simulation programs for pulsed power systems
• Experiencewith electromagnetic interference (EMI)and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
• Ability towork in high voltage environments
• Ability towork both independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degreein Engineering or Science

Nice If You Have:

• Experiencein combat or weaponsystem development, design, and integration for the U.S. Navy or otherArmed Services
• Experienceconducting testing for weaponeffectiveness
• Experienceconducting RDT&E activities for DE systems
• Master's degreein Engineering or Science

Clearance:
