Logistics Manager

Scope and Purpose : The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all logistics activities of the assigned plant, ensuring the effective management of production planning, material flow, warehousing, inventory, customer logistics, transportation, and related documentation.

This role is accountable for ensuring the right materials are available at the right time, maintaining optimal inventory levels, achieving customer delivery commitments, and driving operational excellence across the entire logistics value chain. The position plays a key role in maximizing customer satisfaction while optimizing logistics costs, working capital, and overall supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities 1. Production Planning & Material Planning

• Lead the Operations Planning process and drive the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to maximize plant capacity utilization and customer service performance.
• Ensure alignment between customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and inventory targets.
• Oversee production planning and material planning activities to guarantee uninterrupted production and optimized inventory levels.
• Monitor and manage risks related to supply shortages, demand fluctuations, and production constraints.

2. Customer Logistics Management

• Ensure customer satisfaction through the achievement of agreed service levels and contractual delivery commitments.
• Lead customer logistics activities, including order management, delivery planning, shipping coordination, and customer communication.
• Monitor On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance and implement corrective actions to improve service reliability.
• Manage customer escalations related to delivery performance and logistics issues.
• Collaborate closely with customers, production, purchasing, and transportation providers to ensure seamless deliveries.

3. Warehouse & Inventory Management

• Lead warehouse operations, internal material flow, inventory control and storage optimization activities.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and efficient inventory management while balancing customer requirements and working capital targets.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics processes to support production and customer deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and warehouse operating procedures.

4. Transportation & Distribution Management

• Monitor and optimize transportation activities and logistics costs, including freight, expedited freight, warehousing, and internal distribution.
• Minimize premium freight costs through effective planning and proactive management.
• Drive initiatives to improve transportation efficiency and overall supply chain performance.

5. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Lead Kaizen and continuous improvement projects within Logistics.
• Promote WCM Logistics methodologies and best practices across planning, warehouse, and customer logistics operations.
• Drive inventory reduction, cost optimization, and process improvement initiatives.
• Support logistics digitalization and automation projects when applicable.

7. People Management

• Lead, coach, and develop Planning, Warehouse, and Customer Logistics teams.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Build organizational capabilities to support future business growth and operational excellence.

Qualification:

• Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive suppliers.

• Knowledge of Operations Planning processes and experience translating customer demand into effective production and material plans.
• Experience in inventory optimization, working capital improvement, logistics cost reduction and premium freight reduction.
• Exposure to logistics digitalization, warehouse automation or supply chain improvement projects would be an advantage.
