ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, a major media and entertainment company, is seeking a Product Owner, Rights Management, to lead the end-to-end ownership of enterprise rights and licensing applications. In this high-visibility, hands-on role, you will translate complex rights, licensing, and contractual requirements into scalable product capabilities, driving the modernization of enterprise rights platforms. You will manage the full product lifecycle-including discovery, requirements, backlog, sprint execution, release, and adoption-while collaborating closely with engineering on integrations and data migrations, and with UX/UI teams on wireframes and prototypes. You will align stakeholders across Legal, Business Affairs, Content Acquisition, Distribution, and Finance, ensuring technical credibility and deep rights-domain expertise. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity offering competitive benefits and weekly paychecks.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own assigned enterprise rights management applications across discovery, requirements, backlog, sprint execution, release, and adoption
- Translate complex rights, licensing, windowing, territory, exclusivity, and avails requirements into clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Lead implementation, integration, and data migration workstreams, accounting for upstream sources, downstream consumers, data quality, and cutover validation
- Partner with Engineering and UX/UI teams to evaluate tradeoffs, review wireframes and prototypes, and drive sound design decisions
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and maintain backlogs, dependencies, and release status in Jira and Confluence
- Deliver concise, decision-oriented updates on roadmap status, delivery health, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Align and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, Business Affairs, Content Acquisition, Distribution, and Finance
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5-10 years of product ownership or product management experience, including end-to-end ownership of enterprise applications (not just enhancements)
- 3+ years of media and entertainment experience supporting rights, licensing, content acquisition, or distribution
- Strong working knowledge of rights-in/rights-out, avails, windowing, territories, exclusivity, restrictions, title management, and contract metadata
- Hands-on implementation experience with enterprise rights management systems (e.g., Rightsline, Vistex, RightsLogic, Media Maestro, or similar), including integrations and data migrations
- Technical fluency with APIs, integrations, data models, and reporting; ability to evaluate technical approaches with engineering teams
- Experience with Figma or similar design tools for wireframing, prototype reviews, and UX/UI collaboration
- Strong Agile/Scrum practice using Jira and Confluence; excellent stakeholder communication skills
- Nice to have: Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data analysis tools
- Nice to have: CSPO, CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, or similar certification
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
- Play a high-visibility role on a team modernizing its enterprise rights platform
- Weekly paychecks
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits
- Opportunity to convert to a full-time role
Applications will be accepted through November 14, 2026.
