Trade Operations Specialist

We are looking for a Trade Operations Specialist who combines hands-on operational experience with strong analytical thinking, sound judgement and a drive to continuously improve how things work.

This role sits at the intersection of operations and technology, with a focus on not only running day-to-day operations but also building scalable processes, tools, and automation that make our operations more efficient, reliable, and resilient.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who is comfortable working with data, understanding how systems interact, and collaborating with technical teams to solve operational challenges. You should be equally comfortable managing time-sensitive operational tasks and identifying opportunities to simplify, improve, or automate existing workflows.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operational Ownership:  Manage day-to-day operational workflows across trading, settlements, custody, and internal systems, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and effective issue resolution.
• Reconciliation & Investigations:  Perform and improve reconciliations across exchanges, wallets, and internal ledgers. Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement preventive controls.
• Process Improvement & Automation:  Identify repetitive or inefficient workflows and drive improvements through process redesign, tooling, and automation.
• Operational Projects:  Take ownership of operational initiatives, from identifying requirements and coordinating stakeholders to testing, implementation, and adoption.
• Data Analysis & Monitoring:  Analyze operational data to identify discrepancies, recurring issues, inefficiencies, and potential risks. Develop or improve monitoring and reporting capabilities.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:  Work closely with Engineering, Trading, Treasury, and Finance to troubleshoot issues, improve internal systems, and support new business initiatives.
• Trading Infrastructure Support:  Support the operational onboarding of new exchanges, trading venues, and counterparties, including testing workflows, validating system readiness, and maintaining operational records and documentation.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Work experience: 3+ years in operations, trade support, settlement or reconciliation within financial markets or digital assets.
• Demonstrated experience improving operational processes, implementing controls, or introducing automation, with the ability to measure their effectiveness.
• Able to independently prioritize tasks, make sound decisions, and recognize when to investigate, collaborate, or escalate.
• Curious, detail-oriented, asking the right questions, and investigating issues beyond their immediate symptoms.
• Comfortable using SQL to query, validate, and analyse operational data, with the ability to understand and troubleshoot existing queries or scripts.
• Working understanding of cryptocurrency markets and infrastructure, including exchanges, blockchain networks, stablecoins, wallets, and transaction confirmations.
• Comfortable leveraging AI-assisted tools to support analysis, scripting, and workflow improvements, with an emphasis on validating outputs and understanding their limitations.
• Clear and effective communicator who can coordinate across teams, document findings, and provide structured handovers and escalations.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities and a high degree of individual responsibility.
• Willing and able to work rotating shifts covering Asia, Europe, and US trading hours.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with OTC trading, digital asset settlements, or cryptocurrency exchange operations.
• Familiarity with Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Grafana, or similar analytical and monitoring tools.
• Experience managing operational projects, system implementations, or process changes in a 24/7 trading environment.
