Your Mission

As a Backend Tech Lead, you’ll take ownership of Canopy’s backend architecture, ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our platform. You’ll work closely with a talented team of engineers and stakeholders to design and implement high-quality, secure, and resilient backend systems that power our healthcare solutions. By providing both technical vision and hands-on expertise, you will help drive Canopy’s ability to scale effectively, enabling us to deliver innovative oncology care solutions that make a real difference.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Backend Strategy - Architect scalable backend systems to support our growing platform.
• Optimize Performance - Design efficient and resilient services that handle high data volumes in real time.
• Ensure Code Quality - Enforce best practices for development, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor & Guide - Support engineers at various experience levels through technical mentorship and knowledge-sharing.
• Stay Ahead of Trends - Keep up with emerging technologies and leverage them to enhance our backend ecosystem.

What You’ll Bring

• 8+ years of engineering & architecture experience in enterprise software.
• Expertise in backend development (5+ years, preferably JavaScript/TypeScript, NodeJS).
• Proven experience designing scalable, performant technical platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/GCP) and database optimization.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

• Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams in high-growth environments.
• A track record of delivering complex, high-impact technical projects.
