DATA CONSULTANT - CONTRACT BASIS

The Data Consultant will work with business and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable data-driven insights and solutions. The role involves analysing complex datasets, identifying trends and opportunities, developing reports and dashboards, and providing recommendations that support informed business decision-making.The successful candidate will combine analytical expertise, technical proficiency and strong stakeholder management skills to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, operational efficiency and business performance within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to understand business objectives, reporting requirements and data-related challenges.
• Gather, analyse and interpret large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into data analysis, reporting solutions and actionable recommendations.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and data visualisations to support business decision-making.
• Use SQL and relevant analytical tools to extract, transform, validate and analyse data.
• Conduct data profiling, reconciliation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness.
• Identify data discrepancies, investigate root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain documentation covering data definitions, business rules, analytical methodologies and reporting processes.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, product managers, business teams and other stakeholders.
• Support the development and improvement of data models, reporting frameworks and analytical processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and improve data processing efficiency.
• Assist with the interpretation of key business performance indicators and operational metrics.
• Ensure compliance with applicable data governance, confidentiality, privacy and security requirements.
• Support data-related projects from requirements gathering through analysis, implementation and delivery.
• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented data solutions and recommend improvements where necessary.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A degree or diploma in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in data analysis, business intelligence, data consulting or a related analytical role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience querying relational databases.
• Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret data and communicate meaningful business insights.
• Experience gathering requirements and working with multiple business stakeholders.
• Understanding of data quality, data validation and data governance principles.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working with large datasets and translating findings into practical recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality outputs within agreed timelines.
