Castrol is seeking a Financial Accounting, Reporting & Controls Analyst to join its Accounting, Reporting & Control (ARC) team, supporting the UK business, the Head Office and the Global Functions. About the team

• As part of the Accounting, Reporting & Control team, you will support the delivery of financial accounting and reporting activities for the Castrol UK business, as well support for global technology, marketing and supply chain function areas.
• You will work closely with colleagues across finance and the wider business to ensure timely, accurate and compliant financial reporting while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• This is a mid-level role that would suit someone with a solid accounting foundation who enjoys analysing financial information, solving problems and working within a collaborative international environment.

Key Tasks

• Financial accounting & reporting
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial close activities.
• Prepare and review financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and group reporting requirements.
• Ensure accurate accounting entries and compliance with internal policies.
• Support balance sheet assurance processes and reconciliations.
• Maintain accuracy of intercompany accounting and reporting activities.
• Support other group reporting requirements and requests.
• Controls, compliance & risk management
• Execute financial controls and compliance activities.
• Support the maintenance and improvement of business control frameworks.
• Identify risks, anomalies and areas requiring corrective action.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Process improvement & analysis
• Analyse financial data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support automation and digitalisation initiatives across accounting processes.
• Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, accuracy and stakeholder experience.
• Help optimise accounting and reporting processes through continuous improvement.
• Partner with finance and business stakeholders across the UK and global functions.
• Provide insightful financial information and reporting support.
• Build strong working relationships across international teams.
• Support a customer-focused approach to financial service delivery.

Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline - or equivalent relevant professional experience (At least 2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience)
• Practical exposure to IFRS accounting
• Understanding of financial reporting processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative international environment
• Strong attention to detail 

Desirable Experience within:

• Financial accounting

• Shared services / GBS environments
• Record-to-report processes
• Exposure to month-end close activities
• Experience supporting international stakeholders
• Professional accounting qualifications are welcomed but not required
