IT Infrastructure Support Engineer

Summary

The Analyst, IT Infrastructure will install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the site's operating environment, ensuring the ongoing reliability, performance and security of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring and up keeping the operating environments responding to incidents & problems, deployment of new technologies as well as design, install, configure, maintain and perform testing of PC/server operating systems, networks, and related utilities and hardware. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting problems as reported by users, supporting Web access and telephony services, and the acquisition, replacement and decommissioning of related equipment, software and services.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Providing computers, networks, servers, IT & office equipment installation, configuration, management, maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Plan, manage, revise and continuously improve IT infrastructure, network topology, cabling and interconnect (i.e. servers, storage, database, network switch/hub, wireless access points, firewall and etc).

• Plan and maintain High Availability on IT infrastructure (uptime on systems, databases, network).

• To builds, hardens, and maintains technical systems that directly fulfill international information security standards and Information Security Management System (ISMS) requirements.

• Ensure IT Systems and computer are secure and are compliant with Corporate IT Security Policy.

• Daily monitor the IT Service Request/ Incidents to ensure timely correction of any incidents.

• Maintain a proactive approach in attending to user's requests, identify and troubleshoot problems, enquiries, provide advice and follow up within a stipulated time to ensure the smooth operation of the end user needs and system availability.

• Prepare technical documentation, procedures and guidelines and update according to SOP.

• Liaise with Global IT Team and vendors to ensure projects, services and tasks are implemented as per specification and timely manner.

• To perform any other tasks or assignments as directed by the management from time to time.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Possess good & customer-oriented attitude, integrity, multitasking and able to work under pressure when necessary.
• Able to provide technical support & explain technical problem in simple term in English.
• Strong customer service orientation
• Good analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Good communication (both oral and written) and documentation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the Windows OS (server and client) and the desktop operating environment. Linux and other mainstream OS knowledge will be helpful.
• Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts
• Good knowledge of infrastructure service management & diagnostic tools and processes
• Good knowledge of end-point security management tools and processes.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Competency and experience

• At least 5 years in IT working experience on hardware, software & networking.
• Experience supporting ISO 27001 implementation and audits.
• Previous work experience at 24x7 manufacturing company are encourage to apply.

Education Level

• At least Degree or above in IT related course (Computer Science, Information Technology

• Languages: Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and English as need to communicate with Global IT counterparts.
