Staff Software Engineer - Context Model Core Team

The Team:

The Celonis Context Model provides a real-time digital twin of enterprise operations, serving as the bridge between enterprise systems and AI. It captures how business actually flows across systems, giving organizations and AI agents the context needed to optimize complex workflows in real time. 

As an engineer on the Context Model Core team, you will shape the foundation powering the future of Enterprise AI and Process Intelligence.

The Role:

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to build the core capabilities to power the Celonis Context Model. In this role, you will build the next generation of user-facing tools and robust backend services that define how the world’s largest enterprises understand their data.

You will tackle full-stack engineering challenges end-to-end: from designing scalable microservices in Java (Spring Boot) to building rich, interactive UI components in Angular and TypeScript. You’ll work closely with product and design to turn abstract data modeling into fast, reliable and joyful user experiences.

Your work at Celonis will directly impact companies and people around the globe as they improve their processes to save money, reduce waste, improve automation and generally become more efficient.

The work you’ll do:  

• Define, articulate and drive the execution of the technical vision and strategy for the entire product area, securing necessary buy-in from stakeholders
• Remain hands-on, leading the development of complex, critical-path components
• Driving application performance improvement for big data
• Play an active role in product discussions to shape roadmaps, ensuring technical feasibility aligns with business goals
• Set an example for technical excellence through rigorous design reviews, setting high coding standards, and taking action to improve developer experience
• Mentor and grow teammates while helping to define a fun and inclusive engineering culture 

The product you’ll work on:

• Build the next generation of process mining by developing core platform capabilities that power the Celonis Context Model
• Enable customers to model business processes as they operate in reality
• Add semantic meaning to business data and make it efficiently queryable 
• Partner with AI/ML teams to simplify and accelerate context modeling
• Enable connected, enterprise-wide process insights

The qualifications you’ll typically need:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of product development experience with strong track record of technical leadership
• Deep experience in architecting complex, distributed systems with large-scale data performance challenges. 
• Proven success in consistently delivering high-quality output and elevating the performance and quality standards of the broader team.
• Ability to take vague product requirements and turn them into concrete, executable technical roadmaps. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to gather alignment among diverse stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Preferred experience:
• Angular TypeScript
• Java Spring Boot
