Lead Data Architect | Microsoft Fabric & AI

We are now looking for a Lead Data Architect who will help our customers define, design and realize modern data platforms that enable analytics, AI and business innovation.

This is a senior consulting role where you will combine strategic advisory, architecture and hands-on technical expertise. You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and decision-makers to shape solutions that create real business value.

Microsoft Fabric Expertise

Microsoft Fabric is a strategic investment area for Cepheo and will be at the center of many customer engagements. The successful candidate will bring real-world implementation experience, a strong understanding of Fabric architecture and services, and the ability to guide customers on how to leverage the platform to support analytics, governance and AI initiatives.

Your role

As a Lead Data Architect, you will take a leading role in shaping modern data and analytics solutions built on Microsoft technologies. You will work with customers across industries to understand business challenges, challenge assumptions, define future-state architectures, guide technology decisions and lead implementation initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping organizations understand how data platforms, business applications, analytics and AI come together to create competitive advantage.

Internally, you will also contribute to developing Cepheo’s Data, Analytics and AI offerings, share your expertise across the organization and mentor colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert, guiding customers on architecture decisions, platform adoption, implementation approaches and best practices

• Lead architecture discussions and advise customers on data, analytics and AI strategy

• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure and future-ready technical solutions

• Design data models, information architectures, security models and governance frameworks

• Ensure end-to-end integrity across data ingestion, transformation, storage, reporting and security

• Design data platforms that support analytics, AI and Generative AI use cases

• Help customers understand opportunities, risks and limitations related to AI adoption

• Advise on how data from business systems, integration layers and analytics platforms should connect

• Act as a technical lead and trusted advisor in customer engagements

• Collaborate with consultants, analysts, developers and business stakeholders

• Contribute to building and evolving Cepheo’s Data, Analytics and AI offerings

Core Experience

• Solid experience within Data & Analytics, preferably with architectural responsibility

• Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing and operating solutions on Microsoft Fabric

• Proven experience designing and implementing modern data platforms

• Strong knowledge of Azure-based data services

• Excellent SQL skills

• Experience with lakehouse architecture and modern data platform design

• Experience with data modelling, information architecture, governance, and security

• Experience working directly with customers in a consulting or advisory role

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders

• Experience presenting, positioning, and advocating solution proposals

MicrosoftBusiness Applications & Enterprise Data

A strong understanding of how operational systems connect to analytics platforms is important in this role. We are particularly interested in candidates who understand data models, integrations, and data flows related to:

• Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations

• Dataverse

• Microsoft business applications

• Enterprise integration architecture

You do not need hands-on experience working within these applications, but understanding how data moves from business systems into analytics platforms is essential.

AI & Modern Data Platforms

We are particularly interested in candidates who understand how modern data platforms enable AI-driven business value. Experience with the following is considered a strong advantage:

• Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)

• Microsoft AI technologies, including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and Copilot technologies

• Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, and semantic retrieval

• AI governance, security, and responsible AI

• How data quality, governance, and architecture impact AI solutions
