SMT Equipment Engineer

We are looking for an experienced SMT Equipment Engineer who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of SMT equipment. In this role, you will ensure equipment stability, uptime, and performance to support high-volume production.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate, install, qualify, and maintain SMT equipment across high-volume production lines
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) on SMT equipment
• Monitor and maintain equipment performance metrics, including uptime, availability, and throughput
• Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize production downtime
• Optimize equipment performance and utilization on an ongoing basis
• Support new equipment introduction, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Collaborate closely with SMT Process Engineers and production teams to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain accurate equipment documentation and maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and ESD requirements

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SMT machine engineering; experience with high-volume SMT lines is preferred
• Hands-on experience with SMT equipment, including printers (solder paste printing), SPI, Pick & Place machines (e.g., ASMPT SIPLACE or Panasonic NPM), reflow ovens, and AOI systems
• Proficiency in equipment setup, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
• Familiarity with equipment performance metrics such as UPH, OEE, and uptime
• Understanding of process-equipment interaction within SMT manufacturing environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
• Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional production and process teams
• Ability to work under time pressure in a fast-paced production environment
