SMT Process Engineer

We are looking for an experienced SMT Process Engineer who will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining SMT processes for PCBA assembly. In this role, you will drive process control, yield improvement, and defect reduction as part of a pioneering team establishing a new manufacturing facility in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize SMT processes, including solder paste printing parameters, component placement accuracy, and reflow profiles
• Establish and maintain process parameters, control limits, and work instructions
• Monitor and improve SMT yield, defect rates, and process capability (Cpk)
• Analyze and resolve SMT defects such as solder bridging, voiding, insufficient solder, and component misalignment
• Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize process performance
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) builds and process transfers
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Machine Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and reliability requirements

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of SMT process engineering experience
• Strong expertise in core SMT processes, including solder paste printing, pick and place, and reflow soldering
• Knowledge of solder materials, stencil design, thermal profiling, and reflow optimization
• Hold strong working knowledge of PCB and component design constraints
• Possess hands-on experience with defect analysis covering bridging, tombstoning, voiding, and misalignment
• Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis (Cpk)
• Harness the application of DOE methodologies for process optimization
• Possess familiarity with inspection tools including SPI, AOI, and X-ray inspection
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
