As a CT/MRIScan Technologist Assistant, you are involved in all aspects of the CT/MRI department operations,including department stocking, oral contrast preparation, exam data entryand more. In this role, you will promote a patient-driven philosophy, exhibitingpositive behavior that supports and enhances their care experience.This position is an excellent entry into the healthcare field at Cleveland Clinic.
A caregiver in this position worksday/evening rotation| full-time|start time of 6:45am or 10:45am (8-hour shifts).
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assure rooms are set up properly before beginning of procedure.
Clean rooms promptly post-procedure.
Assure patient modesty and comfort, assistpatients with changing, answer call lights as appropriateand report any change in patient's condition or behavior.
Assure patient isdischarged to appropriate destination.
Check proper identification of patientper policy and create patient identification bands.
Schedule scans and watch queue.
Verify physician exam order, look at needsof patientand initiate communication and inpatient flow.
Document patient history, conditionsand any other pertinent information on requisition/history sheet and ensure all data is entered into the computer on day of exam, including nonprocedural changes, additionalexams, and order revision.
Acquire, archive, transmitand print images via PACS, when applicable knowledge in after-hourstransmission of images and appropriate paperworkimmediatelyreporting any malfunctions to Help Desk and PACS Administrator.
Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines.
Operate all equipment properly and with care.
Maintain ethical and professional relationships with all customers, demonstratingcooperativeefforts with coworkersand the ability to accept constructive criticism.
Assess the patient's readiness and need for learning, considering all aspects of diversity and inclusion.
Determinethe best methodologyto deliver education and receive verbal feedback or return demonstrationto validatelearning.
Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses, and discharge when appropriate.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school Diplomaor GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
One yearofexperiencein a healthcare related fieldOR current radiology student
Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
