Overview:

As a Cloud Solution Architect, you will lead the design, optimization, and modernization of enterprise-scale source control and developer collaboration platforms, with a strong focus on large-scale GitHub Enterprise Server environments. This role is ideal for a highly experienced architect who brings deep infrastructure expertise, DevOps transformation experience, and hands-on leadership in building secure, resilient, high-performing platforms that support thousands of developers across global organizations.

You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, partnering with engineering, infrastructure, security, and executive stakeholders to deliver scalable architecture, performance optimization, capacity planning, and operational excellence for complex enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-grade source control and developer collaboration platforms using GitHub Enterprise Server.
• Create scalable architecture patterns that support global development teams, CI/CD pipelines, software engineering excellence, and developer productivity.
• Develop technical roadmaps for platform modernization, migration, optimization, and long-term scalability.
• Provide architectural governance, technical standards, and best-practice guidance across DevOps and platform engineering teams.
• Lead deployment, configuration, administration, and optimization of GitHub Enterprise Server environments.
• Architect high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions for mission-critical developer platforms.
• Design integration strategies across identity, security, monitoring, ticketing, CI/CD, and enterprise infrastructure systems.
• Support complex multi-region and large-scale enterprise implementations, including on-premises environments.
• Perform detailed infrastructure sizing and capacity planning assessments.
• Analyze repository growth, storage consumption, network utilization, system performance trends, and platform usage patterns.
• Develop forecasting models to support future platform growth, infrastructure investment, and organizational expansion.
• Recommend scaling strategies based on utilization data, business demand, and operational requirements.
• Conduct system health assessments and performance reviews across application, database, storage, network, and infrastructure layers.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve platform responsiveness, scalability, reliability, and user experience.
• Establish performance baselines, monitoring frameworks, operational KPIs, and continuous improvement practices.
• Provide architectural oversight for Linux-based platform infrastructure.
• Partner with infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams to ensure platform stability, compliance, and operational readiness.
• Design monitoring, observability, automation, and operational excellence frameworks.
• Lead root cause analysis and remediation efforts for critical platform incidents.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering leaders, platform teams, and executive stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers, administrators, and architects on enterprise DevOps platform architecture and best practices.
• Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, strategic planning sessions, and modernization discussions.
• Drive adoption of modern platform engineering practices that improve developer experience, productivity, and delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10-15+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, DevOps, cloud, platform engineering, or solution architecture roles.
• 5+ years of deep, hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise Server.
• Strong experience supporting large-scale, on-premises GitHub deployments.
• Proven expertise in enterprise platform sizing, capacity planning, usage analysis, and growth forecasting.
• Advanced knowledge of performance tuning methodologies and infrastructure optimization.
• Strong experience with: Linux administration, Networking fundamentals, Load balancing technologies, Storage architectures, High availability and disaster recovery design, Security and identity integrations
• Experience supporting environments with thousands of users and large-scale repository footprints.
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to executive, business, and technical audiences.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, consulting, advisory, and technical leadership skills.
• Experience leading enterprise DevOps transformation initiatives preferred.
• Experience architecting hybrid infrastructure environments preferred.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle, SDLC, best practices preferred.
• Experience integrating source control platforms with CI/CD ecosystems preferred.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions preferred.
• Experience with performance diagnostics, observability platforms, and monitoring tools preferred.
• Background supporting global engineering organizations preferred.
