We are seeking an experienced, Sr. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our team in Seneca, SC.

Job Summary:

The Senior FP&A Analyst is CORE Transformers' lead source of financial insight for the business unit. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role owns monthly financial reporting, analyzes business results and trends, and turns that analysis into clear, actionable messages for senior leadership.

The ideal candidate pairs strong analytical and modeling skills with the communication skills to explain what the numbers mean, why they moved, and what leadership should do about it. This is an on-site role based in Seneca, SC.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis of Business Results

  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual business unit results, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and EBITDA.
  • Perform variance analysis of actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying root causes and business drivers.
  • Analyze product line, customer, and order profitability, including material, labor, and overhead cost trends in transformer manufacturing.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators such as backlog, bookings, pricing, cost per unit, inventory levels, and working capital.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support pricing decisions, capital investments, capacity planning, and other business cases.

Monthly Financial Reporting

  • Own preparation and delivery of the monthly financial reporting package for the business unit on an established close calendar.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of reported financial data, partnering with Accounting to reconcile results.
  • Develop and maintain standardized reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and commentary for month-end close, audits, and ad hoc requests from the CFO.

Communication with Senior Leadership

  • Present business results, trends, risks, and opportunities to the CFO and senior leadership in a clear, concise, and actionable format.
  • Translate complex financial data into executive-level summaries, presentations, and recommendations.
  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to operations, sales, and supply chain leaders, answering questions and supporting decision-making.
  • Prepare materials for leadership meetings, board presentations, and business reviews as directed by the CFO.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Planning

  • Lead or support the annual budget process and periodic rolling forecasts for the business unit.
  • Develop forecast assumptions in partnership with operational leaders and monitor performance against plan.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of changes in demand, commodity costs (e.g., copper, steel), and other key variables.

Process Improvement and Special Projects

  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting, analysis, and close processes, including automation and system enhancements.
  • Support special projects, strategic initiatives, and ad hoc analysis as assigned by the CFO.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, or a related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing monthly financial reporting packages and performing variance analysis.
  • Proven ability to present financial results and recommendations to senior or executive leadership.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint for building executive-ready presentations.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles.
  • Experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, or similar).
  • Ability to work on-site daily at the CORE Transformers facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in electrical equipment, power transformers, or industrial products.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and inventory valuation.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with FP&A or planning software (e.g., Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Hyperion).
  • Experience supporting a growing or private-equity-backed business.
