The school’s faculty applies an interdisciplinary and problem-oriented focus to wide-ranging public policy issues as they explore how government choices intersect with people’s lives.
The Brooks School is home to approximately 50 staff members, more than 75 tenure streamand teaching faculty, and a distinguished group of part-time facultywho are leaders in public policy and healthcare, bringing real world expertiseinto the classroom. The school enrolls over 700 undergraduate, professional, and graduate students across its programs in Ithaca, at its Washington, DC facility, and online in partnership with eCornell.

The Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy is seeking a Faculty and Academic Administrative Supportprofessional to join our administrative team and play a vital role in advancing the school's academic, research, and public engagement mission.
In this position, you will partner closely with faculty, academic staff, students, and colleagues across the university to provide exceptional administrative support that enables innovative teaching, impactful research, and meaningful community engagement. You will be a trusted resource, problem-solver, and collaborator who helps create efficient, sustainable processes that support the success of our academic community.
What You'll Do
Faculty and Academic Staff Support:
Supporting faculty teaching, research, and extension activities.
Coordinatinga variety of administrative tasks, often under evolving priorities and deadlines.
Assistingwith complex domestic and international travel arrangements and reimbursement processes.
Serving as a knowledgeable resource on university travel and purchasingpolicies.
Facilitating purchases and payments through university systems and identifyingopportunities to improve efficiency.
Supporting the creation and managementof instructional and research-related materials, including Canvas support.
Coordinating hourly student hiring processes, from job posting through onboarding.
Assistingwith mailings, copying projects, communications, and other administrative needs that help faculty and research teams succeed.
School-Wide Administrative Support:
Provide flexible administrative support across multiple offices and teams.
Assistwith travel, purchasing, and student employment transactions during periods of high volume.
Support school events, meetings, and special projects.
Partner with centers, institutes, and faculty directors to meet operational needs.
Provide backup support for specialized administrative processes, including visa-related activities.
Faculty Recruitment and Advancement Support:
Supporting faculty and academic staff searches across multiple disciplines.
Coordinating candidate visits, travel, and interview itineraries.
Maintainingconfidential search documentation and records.
Assistingwith promotion, reappointment, tenure, and advancement processes.
Supporting faculty committees, meetings, agendas, minutes, and annual review activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in departmental and university projects.
Complete required compliance training.
Contribute to special assignments and other duties that support the Brooks School's mission.

Associate’s degree;2 years to 4 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination.
