About the Role:

Like to ship meaningful products and generally get things done? As an Infrastructure Engineer on CrowdStrike's TechOps CICD Image Management team, you will be a key contributor to a team of engineers responsible for building, maintaining, and delivering the golden images that power CrowdStrike's software factory at scale. Linux is at the core of our image fleet, with macOS and Windows rounding out a multi-platform pipeline that thousands of daily builds and tests depend on. A core part of this role is contributing to Ceramic, our internal golden-image build platform that automates the full image lifecycle: from upstream OS through hardening, compliance testing, SBOM tracking, and approval workflows before images reach production consumers. You will own both the images themselves and the platform that produces them, with a heavy emphasis on Python-driven automation and Infrastructure as Code practices.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain and extend Ceramic, our internal image build platform, including new feature development, bug fixes, and integrations with upstream tooling
• Design, build, and maintain automated golden image pipelines with a primary focus on Linux, extending to macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon) and Windows
• Compile and package software from source to satisfy internal framework and compatibility requirements
• Write Python tooling and automation to manage image builds, validation, drift detection, and regression testing
• Author and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Packer, and Terraform for image configuration, provisioning, and compliance hardening
• Integrate image build pipelines with Jenkins and GitLab CI, and publish artifacts via Artifactory
• Manage image lifecycle across the CI/CD fleet including provisioning, deployment, and decommission
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure images meet CrowdStrike's security standards and pass automated scanning
• Respond to and resolve image-related production issues across the CI/CD fleet
• Partner with product engineering teams to evaluate and onboard new toolchain requirements
• Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer within the team

What You'll Need:

• US Citizen or Green Card holder
• Strong Linux systems engineering experience at scale, including low-level knowledge of the build toolchain, package management, shared libraries, and compiling software from source
• Python proficiency, you write automation, tooling, and scripts in Python as a first choice
• Software development experience, you are comfortable owning and extending an internal platform or service
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Ansible (playbooks, roles, AWX/Tower), Packer, and Terraform
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and/or GitLab CI
• Experience with artifact management tools, Artifactory preferred
• Understanding of virtualization concepts, experience with VMware, KVM, or similar hypervisors
• Familiarity with macOS and Windows system administration in a CI/CD or build environment
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across OS, network, and application layers
• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Bonus Points:

• Familiarity with macOS MDM, DEP, or Apple Business Manager
• Kubernetes experience, on-prem preferred
• Background in security hardening (CIS benchmarks, STIG, Falcon sensor management)
• Prior work in a large-scale CI/CD or build infrastructure environment

Key Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in a software or infrastructure engineering environment
• Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively across a distributed team in multiple time zones
• Meticulous attention to detail and sound judgment in a fast-moving environment
• Security mindset with a general understanding of cybersecurity principles
