Join our team as a Senior Backend Engineer in New York. You will lead key business initiatives, improve existing architecture and services, and design large-scale data-intensive applications. Your responsibilities will include owning the end-to-end delivery of key business initiatives, architecting and evolving core distributed services, and mentoring engineers. You should have 5+ years of software engineering experience, proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases, and a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.

Missions

Lead key business initiatives and own the end-to-end delivery of projects from product discovery to feature launch.
Architect and evolve core distributed services for reliability, scalability, and performance, and design large-scale data-intensive applications.
Mentor engineers through code and architecture reviews, and partner with product, data, and business stakeholders to shape technical direction.

Profil recherché

- The ideal candidate should have a background in backend development and experience working with cloud-hosted services. This person should also be a motivated self-starter who is able to feel at ease working in a fast-paced environment

- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with backend experience using a JVM language, preferably Java

- Experience with cloud-hosted services, like AWS or GCP

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills

- Proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and multi-threaded programming
