Job Title: Microsoft Azure Architect

Location: Hybrid; 1 day per week reporting in London office

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, you will be the technical lead for Azure architecture and enterprise cloud transformation projects. Rather than people management, this role provides technical leadership to engineering teams, ensuring Azure solutions are designed and delivered in line with Microsoft best practice. You should possess the leadership qualities, communication skills and mentoring ability to progress into a future management role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design enterprise Azure Landing Zones aligned to CAF.
• Produce High and Low Level Designs.
• Lead technical workshops and architecture reviews.
• Define Azure governance, networking, identity and security standards.
• Architect migration strategies for infrastructure, applications and SQL workloads.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to delivery engineers.
• Review engineering designs and ensure technical quality.
• Support pre-sales, solution design and Statements of Work.
• Champion Infrastructure as Code, automation and Azure best practice.
• Act as the senior technical escalation for complex Azure projects.

• Employees are expected to demonstrate a security-first mindset and ensure that information security considerations are incorporated into their day-to-day activities, decision-making, and interactions with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.

Required Skills & Expertise:

Extensive Azure architecture and enterprise delivery experience.

• Proven experience acting as a technical lead on customer projects.
• Able to mentor and coach engineers without direct line-management responsibility.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent documentation and solution design capability.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Commercial awareness and ability to balance technical and business requirements.
• Leadership potential with the ambition to progress into a future practice management role.
