Senior Mobile App Developer (Kotlin)

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development practices. You will work closely with international commercial and development teams, contributing to secure mobile solutions, backend integrations, performance optimization, and high-quality user experiences. The role requires flexibility to attend meetings during US working hours.

Your responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Android mobile applications using Kotlin
• Build enterprise-grade mobile solutions following modern Android development practices
• Work with Kotlin Multiplatform where applicable and contribute to cross-platform mobile development
• Utilize Android SDK and Jetpack components to develop robust mobile applications
• Implement asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
• Apply MVVM and modern mobile application architecture patterns
• Integrate mobile applications with REST APIs and backend services
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Ensure mobile applications meet security, accessibility, and usability best practices
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot technical issues
• Implement monitoring and diagnostics to ensure application reliability
• Develop and maintain automated tests using JUnit, Espresso, and UI automation tools
• Collaborate with backend developers, architects, product owners, and other stakeholders
• Participate in Agile/Scrum/SAFe ceremonies and cross-functional development activities
• Contribute to code reviews and follow modern software development practices
• Support and maintain applications throughout their lifecycle

Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, including significant experience with Android mobile applications
• Expert-level knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android development practices
• Strong experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is preferred
• Experience with Kotlin and some Swift development may be considered where Kotlin Multiplatform experience is limited
• Strong knowledge of the Android SDK and Jetpack components
• Hands-on experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
• Strong understanding of MVVM and modern mobile application architecture
• Experience building scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise-grade mobile applications
• Strong experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and backend services
• Good understanding of authentication, authorization, and mobile security
• Deep knowledge of mobile application performance optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Experience implementing accessibility and usability best practices
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Espresso
• Experience with UI automation testing tools
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments
• Ability to collaborate effectively within complex, cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment
• Flexibility to participate in meetings during US working hours

Nice to have:

• Experience with WebView development and integration
• Experience integrating third-party identity providers such as Microsoft Entra, Auth0, or Okta
• Understanding of OpenID Connect authentication flows
• Knowledge of FIDO2 and passkey authentication
• Experience implementing biometric authentication
• Experience developing multilingual mobile applications, including support for languages such as English and Spanish
• Knowledge of Azure, Firebase, App Center, or similar mobile/cloud platforms
• Experience working in healthcare, medtech, or other regulated industries
