Senior Software Developer Fullstack - Kotlin/Next.js (React/TypeScript)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Developer Fullstack - Kotlin/Next.js (React/TypeScript) based in Brazil.

This is a senior full-stack engineering role focused on building resilient, secure, and highly scalable digital products.

You will work across Kotlin-based backend services and modern web applications built with Next.js, React, and TypeScript.

The role offers end-to-end ownership, from product discovery and architecture through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

You will contribute to APIs, event-driven integrations, cloud infrastructure, automated testing, and observability.

As a technical reference, you will influence architectural decisions, conduct rigorous code reviews, and mentor less-experienced engineers.

You will also leverage AI-powered development practices to improve engineering efficiency and raise the quality bar across the team.

Accountabilities

• Design, build, and evolve backend services using Kotlin and Spring, including REST/gRPC APIs, integrations, and event-driven communication through technologies such as Kafka and SQS.
• Develop and maintain responsive web applications using Next.js, React, and TypeScript, applying frontend best practices and modern rendering and data-fetching approaches.
• Take ownership of features end-to-end, from product discovery and technical design through implementation, code review, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
• Build reliable software through comprehensive unit and integration testing, CI/CD practices, and a strong culture of automated quality assurance.
• Implement observability across production services through metrics, logs, tracing, and appropriate monitoring so that releases are measurable and operationally reliable.
• Collaborate across squads and disciplines to solve complex technical and product challenges and ensure consistent engineering standards.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, share technical knowledge, and mentor junior and mid-level developers to strengthen the team's capabilities.
• Contribute to the evolution of scalable, secure, and resilient architecture, including clean or hexagonal architecture and domain-driven design principles.
• Use AI-enabled development tools and practices to optimize the software development lifecycle while maintaining high standards for code quality and reliability.

Requirements

• Proven senior-level experience as a full-stack software developer, with strong technical ownership and the ability to contribute across the application stack.
• Strong backend expertise with Kotlin and Spring, or solid Java experience combined with a strong willingness and ability to transition to Kotlin.
• Experience designing and developing APIs, data models, integrations, and maintainable architectures, ideally with Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, or DDD.
• Strong frontend development experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript, including familiarity with SSR/SSG, data fetching, styling, and accessibility.
• Professional experience with AWS or an equivalent cloud platform, containers, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing, including unit and integration testing, and a demonstrated commitment to software quality.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka or SQS is highly valuable.
• Familiarity with production observability, including metrics, logs, tracing, SLOs, monitoring platforms such as Datadog, and on-call practices is advantageous.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and designing systems that operate reliably at scale is a plus.
• Experience in food technology, payments, or fintech environments is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor colleagues and work effectively across teams.
