Customs Clerk
DATAMARK is seeking detail-oriented Customs Clerks to support back-office operations related to customs processing activities. This role is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and processing shipment documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of work in alignment with client requirements and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, solid computer skills, and the ability to interpret manifests and make informed decisions based on tariff classifications. This position goes beyond traditional data entry, requiring critical thinking, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently across multiple systems in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process shipping and customs documentation accurately and efficiently
- Review manifests and supporting documents
- Apply tariff codes and make decisions based on classification guidelines
- Enter and update data across multiple systems and screens
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and internal procedures
Requirements
Success in this position requires judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to interpret complex information.
- Prior logistics, customs, or data processing experience is highly preferred
- Strong computer literacy (comfortable working in multiple systems and forms)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team setting
- 45 WPM typing speed with 98% accuracy
- 6000 KPH data entry speed with 98% accuracy
- Ability to interpret documentation and make informed decisions
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
