Senior QA Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer with strong expertise in API testing and Java-based automation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Postman, REST Assured, OpenAPI validation, contract testing, CI/CD integration, and API security scenarios. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust API test automation frameworks, validating API contracts, managing test data, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain API test automation frameworks using Java and REST Assured.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end API testing.
• Create and execute API test scenarios using Postman and REST Assured.
• Validate APIs against OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
• Implement contract testing to ensure reliable API integrations.
• Integrate automated API tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and manage effective test data for API testing.
• Validate authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth2 and JWT.
• Identify, document, and track defects while collaborating with developers and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to improving test automation coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in API testing.
• Hands-on experience with Postman.
• Strong expertise in REST Assured.
• Good programming skills in Java.
• Experience in Java-based test automation.
• Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger validation.
• Hands-on experience with contract testing.
• Experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of test data management.
• Experience testing OAuth2/JWT-based authentication and authorization.

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Cucumber / BDD.
• Performance testing using JMeter, Gatling, or k6
• Basic understanding of API security testing.
• Experience with API mocking tools such as WireMock.
• Experience with Consumer-Driven Contract Testing.
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Strong understanding of API testing methodologies and automation best practices.
• Good knowledge of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, request/response validation, and authentication mechanisms.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Ability to work closely with developers, architects, DevOps, and QA teams.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
