Senior Software Engineer - DevOps (GCP)

We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on Senior Software Engineer - DevOps (GCP) to support the design, automation, deployment, and operation of cloud-native infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident management. This role offers an opportunity to work on modern cloud platforms, improve deployment automation, enhance platform reliability, and contribute to building scalable and secure engineering solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Build, manage, and optimise cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Deploy and maintain containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployments.
• Monitor production systems and proactively resolve operational issues.
• Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
• Support API Gateway administration, API security, and traffic management activities.
• Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and production support activities.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Implement cloud security best practices, IAM policies, and access controls.
• Maintain operational documentation, deployment procedures, and runbooks.
• Work closely with engineering, QA, product, and security teams in an agile environment.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC Networking, Cloud SQL, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging.
• Experience with Kubernetes (GKE) administration and container orchestration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Docker and containerised application deployments.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, or similar tools.
• Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of API Gateway administration and API lifecycle management.
• Operational understanding of OAuth2 OpenID Connect (OIDC), and API security concepts.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and GCP Monitoring and Logging.
• Experience supporting production environments and handling operational incidents.
• Understanding of cloud networking, security, scalability, and high-availability architectures.

• Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD.
• Exposure to Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or messaging platforms.
• Experience with Elasticsearch and centralised logging solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud cost optimisation and FinOps practices.
• Exposure to AI-assisted DevOps and infrastructure automation tools.
