We're hiring a Principal Solutions Engineer to help institutions, fintechs, and enterprises across APAC adopt Dfns with confidence and ease. This role is hands-on and client-facing: you'll design integrations for complex environments, guide customers through deployment, and provide end-to-end technical support across the region, from Singapore and Hong Kong to Tokyo, Sydney, Seoul, and beyond.

You'll pair deep technical expertise with strong communication skills, serving as a trusted advisor to CTOs, architects, and engineering teams at banks, exchanges, custodians, and fintechs. Expect to design tailored solutions, deliver technical proposals, troubleshoot issues in real time, and collaborate closely with our backend, security, and product teams to ensure successful customer outcomes in a region that operates across many time zones, regulatory regimes, and languages.

This role blends senior technical leadership with hands-on execution. You'll report to our VP of Solutions Engineering and work closely with Sales, Engineering, Security, and Product to support our growth across APAC.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical face of Dfns in APAC, advising clients from first technical conversation through long-term production deployment.

• Guide financial institutions and fintechs through seamless onboarding and integration.

• Build secure, scalable deployment pathways that bridge legacy and modern systems.

• Provide hands-on support: troubleshoot, fix, and build solutions alongside client teams.

• Collaborate with sales on technical proposals, demos, RFP responses, and enterprise procurement processes specific to APAC markets.

• Partner with our security team to ensure every integration meets our security, privacy, and compliance standards, including local APAC regulatory requirements (MAS, HKMA, JFSA, VARA, and others).

• Maintain and improve technical documentation and developer guides, with attention to the needs of APAC-based developers.

• Gather client feedback and translate insights into product and API improvements, acting as the regional voice of the customer.

• Represent Dfns at conferences, workshops, hackathons, and meetings in the region.

• Develop playbooks and reusable integration patterns that scale our APAC delivery.

Requirements

• 10+ years in solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or enterprise integration roles, ideally in fintech, blockchain, and/or enterprise software.

• Demonstrated track record helping institutions deploy mission-critical systems in prod.

• Entrepreneurial mindset able to self start, champion new ideas, and execute end-to-end.

• Strong in TypeScript (or similar languages) with proven API experience (REST).

• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS essential; GCP/Azure/IBM/Thales a plus), microservices, and serverless architectures.

• Solid understanding of enterprise security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS) and familiarity with APAC regulatory regimes (MAS, HKMA, JFSA, VARA).

• Skilled in troubleshooting complex issues and delivering under pressure across multiple client engagements.

• Strong documentation, presentation, and demo skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business conversations at the executive level.

• Knowledge of blockchain, custody, and financial workflows strongly preferred.

• Strong understanding of custody technology such as Multi-Party Computation and Hardware Security Modules.

• Understanding of regulatory requirements in the region and experience with offline signing solutions are a plus.

• Experience operating across multiple APAC markets and time zones.

• Pragmatic approach to balancing speed, security, and business priorities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Fluent in English; Mandarin, Japanese, and/or Korean are a strong plus.

• AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent certifications are a plus.

Terms

• Title: Principal Solutions Engineer, APAC

• Salary: $160,000-230,000 per year (full-time)

• Equity: 100-200 stock options vested over 4 years
