Quality Assurance Tester

About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Tester, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of SaaS products within an agile product environment. You will work closely with development and product teams to design and execute comprehensive testing strategies, identify and manage defects, strengthen test automation, and provide quality-focused insights throughout the software development lifecycle.

You will contribute to release readiness, continuous improvement, and the delivery of reliable products that meet customer and business needs.

Ideal Profile

Experience

• Proven experience in software quality assurance, ideally within a product development environment.
• Experience with both manual and automated software testing.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks; Cypress experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaborative product environments.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, processes, tools, and testing practices.
• Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and automated test suites.
• Knowledge of functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, E2E, API, UI/UX, production verification, and UAT testing.
• Experience with Jira and test management platforms such as TestRail or Zephyr.
• Knowledge of Cypress using JavaScript and CI/CD-integrated automation frameworks.
• Exposure to API validation using Swagger/OpenAPI and browser developer tools.
• Basic SQL and database validation knowledge.
• Familiarity with tools such as Gitea, Docker, Cypress Cloud, Confluence, and Miro is advantageous.
• Exposure to Cucumber/BDD or Playwright is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Testing

• Collaborate with product, platform, and development teams to understand requirements and specifications.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, E2E, API, UI/UX, production verification, and UAT testing.
• Identify, document, track, and support the resolution of software defects.
• Conduct thorough regression testing to maintain product stability and reliability.
• Provide quality-focused input into product design and functionality.
• Represent QA during release-readiness and go/no-go decisions.
• Monitor quality metrics and recommend improvements to testing processes.

Test Automation

• Design, maintain, and improve automated test suites.
• Develop automation using Cypress and support integration with CI/CD pipelines.
• Investigate and resolve flaky automated tests.
• Analyse CI/CD pipeline failures and improve automation stability and test coverage.
• Work with development teams to continuously improve automated testing processes.
• Evaluate future adoption of technologies such as Cucumber/BDD and Playwright where appropriate.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, and quality insights to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide recommendations for product enhancements based on QA findings.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and procedures.
• Create and maintain QA documentation, test plans, and knowledge articles using Confluence and Miro.
• Participate in relevant quality, compliance, training, audit, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of applicable quality, environmental, information security, and workplace health and safety standards.
