Edelman’s UK Public & Government Affairs team provides tailored business, policy and government advisory services to institutions seeking to navigate today’s changing political and economic landscape. We advise some of the world’s leading organisations on a range of areas including business strategy, policy legislation and regulation, government affairs, political risk and corporate social responsibility. The Role
We are looking for an ambitious, proactive and motivated individual who wants to join our Public & Government Affairs team in London as an Analyst / Account Executive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently produce high-quality internal and external written content often under tight timelines and with competing priorities
- Monitor political announcements and parliamentary activity
- Support political engagement programmes, including creating stakeholder maps, outreach to relevant offices and handling the logistical arrangements
- Develop biographical and policy briefings including conducting research to inform these documents
- Aid in new business process including idea contribution, research and presentation development
- Support with event management, including liaising with MPs’ offices, co-ordinating with the parliamentary events team and third-party suppliers as well as handling the logistics
- Build relationship with clients and colleagues at all levels
Key Requirements:
- Experience within a political party or in a public affairs setting is desirable
- Experience within a public affairs environment and knowledge of parliamentary procedure is desirable
- A keen interest in current affairs and UK policy
- Desire to work as part of a busy, fast paced and highly motivated working environment
- Proven track record of prioritising workloads. You must be adept at prioritising competing demands, contending with fast-moving events and handling unexpected requests
- Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to articulate point of view with confidence
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and planning skills
- Team player and collaborative
- A desire to share previous expertise and experience to enhance work of the team
- Entrepreneurial spirit - willingness to ‘get stuck in’ and make the most of opportunities
