Application Support Engineer (Multiple Levels)

Overview

We are seeking Application Support Engineers (N2) to join operational teams focused on delivering support for critical banking applications within enterprise production environments. These roles are essential for ensuring operational stability, availability, and continuous improvement through effective production support, incident resolution, middleware administration, and infrastructure operations. Successful candidates will collaborate with infrastructure, application, and production teams, contributing to deployments, operational excellence, and service improvements while adhering to internal standards and DevOps practices.

Main Responsibilities

Production Support (RUN)

• Provide Level 2 application support for enterprise production environments.

• Ensure operational stability, maintain CMDB documentation, and monitor application lifecycle, obsolescence, and vulnerabilities.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents while coordinating escalations as necessary.

• Perform operational recovery activities and support business-critical environments.

Scheduling & Monitoring

• Configure, execute, and monitor batch processing using Control-M.

• Supervise production workloads and proactively identify SLA breaches or abnormal executions.

• Support operational scheduling activities and optimize batch execution chains.

Middleware & Application Administration

• Deploy, configure, and maintain application servers such as Tomcat, Apache, and JBoss.

• Support application deployments and technical integration activities.

• Monitor application availability and troubleshoot middleware-related issues.

File Transfer Operations

• Monitor and support secure file transfers using CFT / Connect:Express.

• Investigate transfer failures and coordinate recovery activities.

• Maintain traceability and reporting of production file exchanges.

Cloud & Infrastructure Operations

• Support Linux and Windows production environments.

• Monitor cloud-based infrastructure hosted on AWS.

• Support Kubernetes/OpenStack environments as applicable.

• Participate in infrastructure monitoring and operational health checks.

Monitoring & Incident Management

• Monitor application and infrastructure health using Dynatrace.

• Manage incidents based on ITIL processes.

• Produce operational reports and maintain technical documentation.

Continuous Improvement

• Enhance operational procedures and automation.

• Participate in production deployments and change management.

• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to enhance application reliability.

• Advocate for DevOps best practices, automation, and observability across environments.
