Job Summary
The Application Engineer assists customers by identifying the best solution for their application, offers and sells complete product solutions from the Flow Controls portfolio, provides commercial and technical support to customers, and strives to deliver the highest standards of customer service while working closely with peers, Outside Sales, Service Engineers, Business Managers, and other stakeholders.
The Application Engineer will be based in Kuwait or Qatar. Key customers include NOC, Dolphin Energy, QAFCO, QChem, QELNG, and QE in Qatar, as well as KOC, KNPC, and Equate in Kuwait.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide Applications Engineering, technical, and pricing support to customers in Qatar and Kuwait, including technical presentations and site walkdowns.
- Perform sizing and selection of control valves and other FCV products, review project specifications, and prepare deviation lists.
- Prepare customer quotations that are timely, technically accurate, commercially verified, and offer the best overall solution.
- Conduct direct customer technical sales calls, order closeouts, site walkdowns, and prepare associated reports.
- Coordinate with GIS and Engineering teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop solutions for severe-service applications and complex products.
- Present detailed technical solutions and recommendations to customers.
- Follow up on quotations with customers and the outside sales team until purchase orders are secured.
- Ensure purchase orders are commercially and technically compliant before order entry and process error-free orders to the appropriate factories.
- Coordinate with Project Management, Order Entry, and Customer Order Fulfillment (COF) teams to provide clean orders to factories and support customers with post-order documentation and requirements.
- Collaborate with the Flow Control Sales Manager and Application Manager to achieve sales targets and departmental KPIs.
- Maintain records and information within Emerson systems and tools, including SharePoint and CRM platforms.
- Ensure compliance with Emerson Trade Compliance, Quality Management procedures, and Ethics policies.
- Stay current with product developments, industry trends, and market requirements.
Who You Are
- Experienced in control valve products, applications, and Fisher sizing and selection tools.
- Experienced in selling control valve products and services to hydrocarbon, chemical, and petrochemical end users.
- Knowledgeable in industrial standards related to control valve design, manufacturing, and testing processes.
For This Role, You Will Need
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in the process control industry, including control valve products and applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Mechanical, Chemical) or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart
- Experience with control valve sizing and selection tools, including Fisher FF2.
- Strong interpretation skills related to engineering drawings, specifications, and P&ID documentation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions based on engineering principles, standards, and applicable codes.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and adapt to diverse cultural environments.
