Job Title: Lead Engineer

The job
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, engineering, integration, testing, and site commissioning, performing site acceptance tests as per the approved client format, prepare site report, conducting communication point to point testing with multiple electrical equipment’s on standard communication protocol. In addition, performing SAS, SCADA, PMS, Generator Management, and Load Shedding testing and demonstration.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, engineering, integration, testing, commissioning, and handover of Power Automation solutions, including SAS, SCADA, Control Center, PMS, Generator Management, and Load Shedding systems.
- Engineer and integrate SAS/SCADA/Control Center systems, including IEDs, RTUs, PLCs, protection relays, meters, gateways, HMI, historian, alarms, SOE, interlocks, controls, redundancy, and time synchronization.
- Lead PMS and Generator Control functions, including synchronization, load sharing, black start, island/grid operation, power balancing, import/export control, and AGC interfaces.
- Design, configure, and validate Load Shedding schemes, including UFLS, UVLS, priority-based shedding, fast load shedding, and restoration sequences.
- Design and troubleshoot industrial communication and OT networks, including TCP/IP, switching, routing, VLANs, PRP/HSR, gateways, firewalls, redundancy, and network diagnostics.
- Configure and integrate communication protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC DA/UA, and ICCP/TASE.2.
- Lead OT cybersecurity and IT infrastructure configuration, including segmentation, RBAC, system hardening, patching, secure remote access, Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, backup/recovery, and system services.
- Work with relevant SCADA, SAS, PMS, PLC/RTU, protection, and network engineering platforms, and provide technical guidance for system configuration and troubleshooting.
- Prepare and lead FAT, SAT, point-to-point testing, integration testing, HIL/RTDS testing, and site commissioning, including failure scenarios, redundancy/failover, generator trips, and load-shedding tests.
- Lead technical documentation, design reviews, project coordination, customer interface, troubleshooting, punch-point closure, and acceptance activities.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and customer training, while guiding junior engineers and supporting knowledge transfer across the team.
Essential requirements
- Graduate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Control & Automation Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 8-10 years in Power Automation, SAS, SCADA, control-center systems, PMS, or electrical control and automation projects.
- Proven experience leading engineering, system integration, FAT/SAT, commissioning, customer demonstrations, and technical issue resolution.
Desired skills
- Structured troubleshooting across electrical, automation, communication, network, and IT/OT layers.
- Lead technical workstreams, guide engineers, make sound decisions, and drive actions to closure.
