About the Role :
We are seeking a Data Analyst / Business Analyst with strong analytical and stakeholder management capabilities to bridge business requirements and analytics delivery for customer propensity modeling initiatives on AWS.
The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and project teams to define use cases, validate data and model outputs, establish KPIs, and translate analytical insights into actionable business recommendations. The role requires strong expertise in business analysis, data analysis, reporting, and customer analytics.
Key Responsibilities :
Business Analysis & Requirement Management :
- Conduct stakeholder workshops and requirement-gathering sessions to understand customer journeys, campaign objectives, decision processes, and business challenges.
- Document business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, assumptions, dependencies, and process flows.
- Define target customer populations, business rules, KPI frameworks, success metrics, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain end-to-end requirement traceability and support change management processes.
Data Analysis & Validation :
- Analyze customer and transactional datasets using SQL and Excel.
- Perform data profiling, reconciliation, segmentation analysis, trend analysis, and data-quality assessments.
- Identify and coordinate resolution of data quality issues with business and data owners.
- Validate model inputs, outputs, and business rules to ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations.
Reporting & Visualization :
- Develop dashboards and performance reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
- Track and communicate model adoption, conversion rates, campaign performance, lift, retention, and business outcomes.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to business stakeholders and leadership teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Work closely with Data Scientists and ML Engineers throughout model development and deployment lifecycles.
- Facilitate UAT activities and obtain business sign-offs.
- Communicate project status, risks, actions, and decisions across business and technical teams.
- Support governance, documentation, and compliance requirements throughout project execution.
Ideal Candidate Profile :
- 3 - 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Analytics Consultant.
- Strong expertise in requirement elicitation, process mapping, stakeholder management, and workshops.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Excel, data profiling, and business reporting.
- Ability to analyze large customer datasets and derive actionable business insights.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Data Engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in BFSI, Insurance, Telecom, Retail, or similar customer-focused industries.
- Exposure to Propensity Modeling, Campaign Analytics, Lead Scoring, or Retention Analytics.
- Strong documentation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Architects, and Business Users.
- Familiarity with AWS data services (S3, Athena, Glue, Redshift) and Agile/Scrum environments.
