You'll gain valuable exposure to project-based HR operations, workforce planning, and labour relations while developing practical experience in a dynamic construction environment.

Key Elements of the Role

  • Coordinate workforce mobilization: Support hiring through union halls, prepare manpower requests, communicate with union representatives and site teams, and coordinate employee arrivals and workforce movements.

  • Manage onboarding and site access: Coordinate employee onboarding, orientations, training, certifications, drug and alcohol testing, background screening, and project-specific access requirements to ensure employees are ready for site deployment.

  • Maintain employee records: Create and update employee files, onboarding documentation, and employment records while processing approved hires, transfers, wage changes, classifications, and terminations in HR systems.

  • Prepare workforce reporting: Maintain accurate onboarding, workforce, compliance, and program participation reports, monitor data quality, and identify opportunities to improve administrative processes.

  • Provide employee support: Respond to routine HR inquiries, assist employees and managers with onboarding and administrative processes, and refer complex employee relations, payroll, or policy matters to the appropriate HR resource.

  • Support HR initiatives: Assist with employee orientations, HR programs, and process improvement activities while maintaining confidentiality and supporting a positive employee experience.

What You’ll Bring

  • A diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in human resources, recruitment, workforce coordination, or project administration.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, HR information systems (HRIS), and workforce management platforms.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, project teams, and internal stakeholders.

  • Sound judgment and professionalism when handling confidential employee information and sensitive workplace matters.

  • Ability to meet applicable screening and project-specific testing requirements for site access.
