JOB SUMMARY: The Engineer, Software Engineering, Digital Banking is responsible for the build and test of integration services across the Digital Banking ecosystem. This role is a part of an Application Development team and works closely with other departments such as IT, Operations, and Business Units, to ensure seamless integration of systems and processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build technology features and functions to progress the product requirements of Forbright Bank’s Digital Banking ecosystem on the distributed and cloud platforms
Serve as a core member of an agile based development team, writing code and unit tests, automations, and deployments
Mentor more junior engineers and peers alike
Build microservices using Docker, Node.JS, Kafka, and Relational and NOSQL databases on the AWS cloud platform
Work on Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment using native AWS or other technologies
Work on developing observability capabilities as part of fundamental technology framework
Collaborate with peers in the development and product teams
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related field; or equivalent relevant experience required
2+ years of software engineering experience required
2+ years of Agile scrum methodology experience required
2+ years of CICD experience required
2-5 years of AWS experience preferred
Experience with AWS Cloud, Confluent Kafka, Node.js or equivalent
Knowledge of Typescript, Python and other programming languages
Proficiency in facilitation, communication, and presentation skills with tech and business audiences
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Outstanding problem-solving and time management skills
Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Can work independently and within a team; solution-oriented with a collaborative approach
