About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior IBM DB2 DBA (UDB) to manage and support enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in DB2 database administration, HADR configuration, database performance optimization, and production support. This role involves handling critical database operations, ensuring high availability, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and supporting cloud-based database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM DB2 UDB databases across production and non-production environments
• Manage and support DB2 HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery) configurations
• Perform database performance tuning, SQL optimization, and troubleshooting of performance bottlenecks
• Monitor database health, storage, capacity, and system performance
• Handle database backup, recovery, patching, upgrades, and migration activities
• Work on incident management, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
• Ensure database security, integrity, availability, and compliance standards
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for deployments and database support
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting tools
• Support cloud database environments including AWS R

Required Skills & Expertise :

• Strong hands-on experience in IBM DB2 UDB Administration
• Expertise in:
  • DB2 HADR
  • Backup & Recovery
  • Performance Tuning
  • SQL Query Optimization
  • Database Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Good experience working in Linux/Unix environments
• Strong understanding of database architecture and maintenance activities
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues in high-availability environments
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with AWS RDS
• Knowledge of Shell/Python scripting for automation
• Exposure to cloud migration or modernization projects
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and ticketing tools

Educational Qualification :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
