Gen Digital is the consumer cybersecurity company formed in 2022 when NortonLifeLock merged with the Czech antivirus firm Avast, bringing together several of the best known security brands sold to individuals. Its portfolio spans Norton, Avast, AVG, Avira, LifeLock identity protection, the CCleaner utility and, since 2025, the consumer finance app MoneyLion, all sold as subscriptions rather than through enterprise contracts. Headquartered jointly in Tempe, Arizona and Prague and listed on Nasdaq, it serves several hundred million users and competes for consumer attention rather than for corporate security budgets.

About Gen Digital

Gen Digital is a global leader in Cyber Safety, protecting more than 500 million users across 150 countries through trusted brands including Norton, Avast, LifeLock, Avira, AVG, ReputationDefender, and CCleaner.

Our mission is to power Digital Freedom by helping consumers take control of their digital lives securely, privately, and confidently. As the digital landscape evolves, Gen operates at the intersection of security, privacy, identity, and AI-driven experiences, building protection that is powerful, accessible, and increasingly invisible.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Principal Product Manager to lead Gen Digital’s Digital Footprint Control capability. This role will help consumers reduce unwanted personal data exposure, limit behavioral tracking, and maintain ongoing visibility and control over their digital presence.

This is a high-impact, consumer-first product leadership role for someone who understands that privacy is a fundamental expectation, not simply a product feature. You will translate that principle into protection capabilities that are simple, trustworthy, effective, and valuable to consumers at scale.

You will own the strategy across capabilities that help consumers reduce, remove, and control their digital footprint, including personal data removal, tracking protection, and account and identity exposure management. You will also define how these capabilities evolve across efficacy, international markets, partner ecosystems, mobile experiences, and AI-driven automation.

This role sits at the intersection of consumer empathy, data ecosystem expertise, privacy regulation, and product execution. You will connect a rapidly changing privacy landscape with Gen Digital’s ability to respond quickly and deliver meaningful consumer value.

Current Product Portfolio

The following products represent the current Digital Footprint Control portfolio. You will be responsible for evolving these products and defining the next generation of capabilities as consumer needs and the market change.

  • Privacy Monitor Assistant: Automated identification and removal of personal data from data broker databases, with ongoing monitoring for re-listing and new exposures.

  • Reputation Defender: Online reputation management and personal information removal from people-search sites and the broader web.

  • Avast One Breach Guard and Privacy Control: Data breach monitoring and in-product privacy controls within the Avast One suite.

  • Anti-Track: Behavioral tracking protection across web browsers and mobile, blocking data-collection mechanisms that contribute to the data broker ecosystem.

  • Online Account Cleaner: Identification and remediation of dormant online accounts that create ongoing personal data exposure risks.

What You’ll Own

Efficacy and Consumer Outcomes

Protection that does not demonstrably work is not protection. You will define what effectiveness means across every capability area and maintain a high quality bar.

  • Define and own quality dimensions such as removal success rates, re-listing detection, tracking-block coverage, and account-closure completion.

  • Build consumer-facing efficacy signals that make protection visible, measurable, and trustworthy.

  • Continuously improve capability depth so Gen’s products deliver meaningfully more value than manual alternatives or competing solutions.

  • Translate efficacy data into roadmap priorities and engineering investment decisions.

International Expansion

The digital-footprint challenge is global, but effective solutions must reflect local ecosystems, regulations, and consumer expectations.

  • Lead the expansion of Digital Footprint Control capabilities into new geographies.

  • Navigate regional data broker landscapes, local opt-out requirements, and market-specific expectations.

  • Monitor global privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, US state-level laws, and emerging international frameworks.

  • Translate regulatory developments into product opportunities, requirements, and risk assessments.

  • Define market-entry sequencing and localization requirements for credible protection in each region.

Partner Ecosystem

Digital Footprint Control depends on relationships and integrations beyond Gen Digital’s own infrastructure. You will build and manage the external ecosystem that extends product coverage and effectiveness.

  • Identify and develop partnerships with data brokers, data-removal networks, browser-platform owners, and identity ecosystem providers.

  • Define partnership models, including technical integrations, data-sharing agreements, and co-development arrangements.

  • Monitor partner APIs, platform policies, third-party data ecosystems, cookie deprecation, and browser-permission changes.

  • Translate ecosystem developments into product strategy, roadmap priorities, and technical requirements.

Mobile Privacy

Consumers increasingly live on mobile, while mobile tracking and data exposure remain complex and underserved. You will define what credible mobile protection looks like.

  • Define the mobile value proposition for each capability area.

  • Identify the tracking surfaces and data-exposure vectors on iOS and Android that matter most to consumers.

  • Navigate platform constraints, including Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework, Android’s permission model, and mobile-browser limitations.

  • Ensure mobile capabilities are coherent and integrated across Gen’s broader security and privacy portfolio.

AI-Driven Automation and Intelligence

AI creates new opportunities to move privacy protection from reactive removal to continuous, proactive exposure management.

  • Identify where AI can improve privacy protection through automated removal workflows, proactive exposure detection, personalized risk reporting, and reduced user friction.

  • Partner with Engineering and the AI Competency Team to operationalize intelligent, background-running privacy capabilities.

  • Ensure AI-driven experiences maintain consumer trust through transparency, accuracy, explainability, and appropriate human oversight.

Product Evolution and New Capability Definition

Today’s products are the foundation, not the limit. You will anticipate where the category is going and define what Gen Digital should build next.

  • Monitor emerging data broker models, tracking mechanisms, AI-generated data aggregation, and changing consumer behaviors.

  • Identify capability gaps before they become competitive disadvantages.

  • Build business cases for new capabilities, including market sizing, return-on-investment modeling, and portfolio positioning.

  • Translate emerging privacy needs into roadmap investments that sustain Gen Digital’s leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence

This role succeeds through influence rather than formal authority.

  • Align Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy, Brand, and Go-to-Market teams around the Digital Footprint Control strategy and roadmap.

  • Connect external ecosystem signals, including regulatory, competitive, and technology developments, with internal execution priorities.

  • Lead through ambiguity, using sound judgment to make decisions where the right path is not defined by process alone.

What Success Looks Like

  • Gen Digital is recognized as one of the most effective and transparent Digital Footprint Control providers in the consumer market.

  • Efficacy is measurable, visible to consumers, and demonstrably stronger than available alternatives.

  • Capabilities are available and credible in priority international markets, with appropriate regulatory and ecosystem coverage.

  • The partner ecosystem expands the depth and reach of data removal, tracking protection, and account remediation.

  • Mobile protection delivers a compelling value proposition rather than simply replicating desktop functionality on a smaller screen.

  • AI automation reduces consumer effort and improves protection efficacy across capability areas.

  • The roadmap reflects the future direction of the category, not only current market requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience, including senior or principal-level ownership of a consumer-facing product.

  • Strong understanding of data-broker operations, including data acquisition, opt-out mechanics, removal workflows, and re-listing behavior.

  • Proven consumer-product judgment and the ability to make complex privacy capabilities simple, trustworthy, and valuable to non-technical users.

  • A track record of growing adoption and monetization for privacy, security, utility, or subscription products, particularly by converting free or low-engagement users into paying customers.

  • Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, US state-level privacy laws, and the product implications of global privacy regulation.

  • Experience building or enhancing products with AI-driven automation, proactive intelligence, or personalized recommendations.

  • Experience working across Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy, Brand, and Go-to-Market teams in a multi-brand or platform environment.

  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Browser-extension architecture or browser privacy products.

  • Mobile privacy and tracking constraints across iOS and Android.

  • Masked identity, email-alias, data-removal, or reputation-management products.

  • Data broker, identity, privacy, cybersecurity, or consumer subscription businesses.

  • Experience operating in a highly regulated or rapidly changing product environment.
